Manila Embassy Interview

Does anyone have experience in hiring an American attorney in Manila to go to the interview with the beneficiary? Or what can be done to avoid AR for such a trivial and well documented item? After what we have been through to get an interview, I am at overload to find out AR is eminent.

Exactly what do you expect an attorney to do to prevent a document check? Don't think there would be anything more they could do then what you can yourself. If all documents and evidence are provided, and STILL they want to check/validate for themselves, still same result with attorney. I know with a "late registered" BC like my girl's they often require second ID to confirm the validity of the BC (i.e. baptismal certificate) maybe such secondary identification would help your cause.

My Fiancee had secondary docs to prove her name....from elementary school to current....still did not matter.

Yes...she was told by the consul and also given a white piece of paper telling her to wait until they call her.

Plus the embassy told me that NOW they will do review on any BC that has changes or corrections

Yes, I see now that you are right. An attorney would do me no good. I am just overwhelmed at the thought AR is eminent after such a long battle already.

I just need to lay down and cry like an old woman. I am really crushed and heartbroken to know that in spite of the completely thorough job of putting together paperwork, AR and another undetermined delay is coming. And it appears there is nothing I can do about it. After IMBRA, IMBRA RFE, filing a successful waiver and waiting so long, this is just too much to bare. But what choice do I have? NONE.

If anyone else in this thread has input, please let me know.

Hello everyone. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Anyone still stuffed?

I started a new Thanksgiving tradition. Since I couldn't spend the holiday with Jennie....that will come next year....and all of my family lives in other parts of the US, I decided to have a Pinoy Thanksgiving!

Well, if you can call it that. I basically did nothing all day but watch football and eat Longanisa and rice.

Anyway. Can you please change our Manila Received date on the list from 11/7/06 to 11/2/06?

Thank you. Ingat ka everyone.

Nice Mike glad to see I wasn't the only one to follow that plan. My kids were 800 miles away others elsewhere so we took advantage of my day off and had nice online chat after that. Football and that 70's show marathon. As for the main course cereal and toast.

Guys,

i am a bit confused bout this ITR. i have a ITR here form 1040EZ is this the ITR that embassy asking bout? its just a one piece of paper? our lawyer asking my fiancee to obtain 2005 transcripts frm IRS which i doubt it bcoz as ive known IRS transcripts not needed right? pls, help me w/ this. thanks in advance.

clestz

obtaining a tax transcript is real easy and no big deal. can be obtained by calling 1-800-829-1040. takes about 10 days to receive it. that's what I did.

Thanks for the reply but my question is embassy asking the Income Tax Return Form 1040. the form i have here is ITR form 1040EZ, is that the form that the embassy asking bout? embassy dont mentioned bout IRS transcripts tho. any answer is highly appreciated.

i have a clerical error on my BC infact my first, last name and my father's last name. but it was already corrected last 2003 after i graduate college. ive read some interview experience here and some has the same prob clerical error but why consul did not put em on AR? now, m confused but honestly, i already expected that consul will take a look of my BC. just relax wats one month for em to check the record of ur gf in NSO. we dont have choice but to wait. good luck to both of us and lets keep praying only.

We're using the Julian date for Manila receipt of petition, which is the 3 digits after the 2006 in the case number. They are pretty predictable about taking these in order, and we have a rough idea about how many they have been taking each month (approximately 20 to 30) from reports of people who have their interview dates.

Sorry I seem to be such a weenie and don't want to accept another month or two delay in getting Lilia here due to a one letter correction in her name on the BC. It has just been so long already and such a fight with IMBRA, Waiver, and heavy waiting times for interview.

Lilia's birth certificate was spelled LElia. She had it officially corrected in 2004. All records, school, baptismal, college etc. are in Lilia. She has never ever used LElia. NBI is correct spelling as well.

My plan is order a fresh Birth Certificate from NSO and have it sent directly to the USE Visa Unit with Lilia's case number on it. Do the same with NBI clearance. Then at interview time in Feb, they already have the necessary documents in their file (directly from the source) to verify. Also I intend to attend the interview.

Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. But if it saves a month or two, it is certainly worth the effort. My frank feeling is that putting everyone who has a typo on their birth certificate on AR will cause a huge backup. I know there must be many.

If any of you go to your interview and are facing this situation (where there is any change at all on your birth certificate) please post it here so we can benefit from your experience. We are all in this together.

Thanks,

Rob
