Have a few questions concerning Manila's handling the scheduling of interviews:

1. What happens when you dont have a visa prior to the time on the Approvalm Notice from DHS?

2. Since it seems like we dd not make the current round of interviews, will manila mke sure that date is met?

3. Has any one tried using the early appointment request?

They got the physical files originaly back in May. But then got sent back due to IMBRA late July, and I never got the RFE until August. The latest information they seem to have at the embassy was that it was sent back in July, without a reason why (although we know it was due to the IMBRA recall) and that they have no further information.

The NVC supposedly sent the file back finally back on the 9th. I just probably hasn't arrived yet. But we are very delayed compared to others and I just don't understand why.

Typical badluck I guess. I have never had luck with the "system" why would it change now

You would think that because our dates of NOA2 go back to March we would be the 1st that they would want to get out of the way. We should be processed 1st... But I doubt it very very much now.

Hi all,

Anyone here know exactly what papers the NVC sends with ds-230 for the philippines. We are doing the cr-1/cr-2 and just paid the IV bill....we should be able to send the ds-230 next using the short cuts but i'm not sure exactly what papers to send as the philippines is on there list of countries that need the part 2...so if anyone has done this step and can tell me exactly which forms and documents i need i'd appreciate it.

WOOHOO!!! When it rains, it pours!!! Updating the timelines of those with interview dates scheduled. Congrats, ya all! Most of you got interview dates within 90 days after Manila Embassy received your physical file. That's good news for those of us still waiting.

Yna, please correct your signature/timeline. You put 7-13-06 as your interview date. Sobrang excited ka talaga ha? Can't blame you Congrats!

1. You mean the validity date of the NOA2? The embassy automatically revalidates the NOA2 for another 4 months.

2. Embassy will not schedule an interview based on NOA2's validity date. They will just revalidate the NOA2.

3. Early appointment is granted only to these cases: military expedite, medical expedite (life and death situation) and age-out.

x x x In a nutshell, the Dept. of State just informed me that whomever entered my fiancee's address into the computer left out her city!!!! So, they told me to e-mail the embassy the full address (which is clearly listed in her package) and request that they send Packet 3 ASAP (yep, Packet 3...I thought we didn't get that, only Packet 4, but she says otherwise). The specialist told me that she won't get an appointment date until she gets Packet 3 and mails the embassy her DS-230!!!! (YIKES) That means instead of the November appt we were expecting, we're going to be pushed back who knows how long!

Manila K1s do not receive Packet 3. The visa specialist may have been clueless as she is not familiar with the process being done at the embassies all over the world. I think it's only in the Philippines that we don't receive Packet 3. All other countries do. The practice of sending separate packets for Manila was discontinued several years ago.

Manila K1s do not send DS-230 to get an appointment date. Don't worry, she will get that appointment in due time.

As to the incomplete address, yes, send an email to the embassy to make the correction. But I'm sure they're resourceful enough to look for the complete address in her case folder.

If you are worried about the packet not being delivered, you may call the embassy to request for your fiancee's packet to be sent to St. Lukes Hospital for pick-up or you may download the packet from the embassy website. The packet is not such a big deal as there are other means to get it as stated above.

Elizabeth, our physical files were received a day earlier than yours & we're just lucky we made it for the November schedule. I'm hoping that you get at least the 1st week of December in time for the holidays.
