My fiancee arrived safely and everything is great. She is still having probs with the different time zones and falls asleep at odd times. I tried to get her to try American food twice and decided to not do it again for awhile. She definately likes the super Wal-marts and well stocked shelfs. She learned quckly to yell out "yeehaw" when the mood strikes.

It has been a hell of a journey.

Congratulations and best wishes!!! I have some questions if you don't mind. How long has she been here and does she seem to be overwhelmed by the big change? Did she fly here by herself? if so, were there any problems? My wife has never flown so I will probably go and get her when it is time. Is there a large VN. population where you live and has she met any VN. people yet? There is in Minneapolis so I am hoping that helps. About food, are there VN. markets where she can go to food shop? My wife goes to market in VN. everyday and buys enough for just that day. There are so many things that go through the mind when thinking about life for both people after the SO arrives. Thanks for any insights or stories.

Thats one of the things I think my wife will miss about living in Vietnam, is the convienence of being able to walk to the market everyday and being able to have fresh food.

Congratulations to you both. I can't imagine the shock of coming here from Vietnam.

You taking her out on the road?

Many thanks. It is a shock for sure. I was planning on taking her out for a bit but will see later. Looking like I may have to nit take her for now as the American food seems to not sit too well for now. Hopefully as she acclimates she can handle better.

it will take about ten days to get over the jet lag :star:

Congrats man, take her to hong kong bellaire, southwest area so that she can feel more at home. Or closer to you, Go to Hong Kong on scarsdale area and let her try Hoang My, thats a pretty good authentic Vietnamese food restaurant.

Already took her to Scarsdale and Pho21. She didn't like the price for sure and said the food had too much fat.LOL. We are heading to the southwest and a place near Hong Kong market there at a restraunt for a huge welcome greeting. I have met most of these people in the past year so this should be interesting.

Thats one of the things I think my wife will miss about living in Vietnam, is the convienence of being able to walk to the market everyday and being able to have fresh food.

Trang should be fine as we have plenty of shopping and Scarsdale is near.
