Another Rice Question

Hello Everyone!

I few weeks ago I posted asking about a quality rice substitute that I could find here in the States.

Many kind folks told me about a type called Jasmine.

I found this rice in my local grocery store in 25 pound bags. Thats a bit over 11 kilos.

The price on this bag was $24.99 UDS. Thats 1150 PHP.

About a buck a pound.

Is this a good price or should I keep looking??

Thanks!!

Phil

That is a little high for white rice. I paid $18 for 20 lbs of Shirakiku Brown Rice (New Crop, California Grown). It took a few months to get my wife to like brown rice, but now she likes it more that white rice, and she feels a lot healthier.

I suggest you buy a small amount of rice

I suspect you will be moving to a warmer climate after your fiance/wife gets to the Nations Ice Box known as Iowa

What the high out there today, like 25 and the low is 11.

Your girl is gonna think she has moved to the North Pole

Just because your girl is a pansy and can't stand a bit of cool weather does not mean my honey is the same.

Shir knows about cold and is looking forward to it.

Goodluck! :jest:

My husband is not really a rice eater like me so our 20 pounds of rice would lasts for many months. Anyway, I haven’t had any experience yet living in a very cold place during winter time I wonder what it’s like. We went to flagstaff (Northern part of Arizona) last year around February and there’s still plenty of snow but it wasn't really that cold for me. :P
