Applied for 751 - Not getting extension reciept letter

I have applied for removing conditions on my permanent residency.

I got biometrics appointment letter and got it done already but I haven't got the letter which they say should be getting before biometrics and includes an extension to my green card for 1 year.

After 2 months I called USCIS and they said they would be resending it and I should have got it in a couple of days. That was last week.

Does anyone have same experience. I have no problem with getting my mail, as I got the biometrics letter. When I made the call they verified the address they have is right, too.

What are the odds two of the same letter got lost in the mail?

We never got the extension letter so we made an infopass appointment to get an I-551 stamp in Marlene's passport that is good for 1 year.

Wow! Temporary green card given out on infopass appointment?! Not to say that I have doubt but just never heard of  . I know for sure you can make an infopass appointment and ask them to stamp your valid unexpired passport with an I-551 stamp in substitution of the extension letter as proof for legality.

My wife and daughter got temporary GCs during AOS. USCIS screwed up doing the "real" ones.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Last year about this same time it was very common for applicants to TSC not to receive their extension letter. Quite a number of us had to go to our local USCIS offices and request the I-551 stamp placed in our passports. I was one of them. It is easy to do. You make an infopass online at the http://www.uscis.gov website under 'Schedule An Appointment". On the day of your appointment (try to make it just a week or two before your green card expires so you still have time to get the extension letter) bring your green card and you can bring your biometrics letter along with your unexpired passport. If your passport is expired, bring it along with two passport style photographs. They will look up your status using your A number, stamp your passport with the I-551 stamp or stamp an I-94 with your photograph and I believe the I-551 stamp good for one year and staple it into your expired passport. The stamp is considered a temporary green card as well and is good for work and travel. You should receive your 10 year card before the stamp expires.

What happened with us last year was that when we filed, we had a physical address and a mailing address and they sent it to our physical address even though in our cover letter we explained that we did not have a mail box at our house since our house was zoned a short term rental. Anyway, a locked PO Box is much more secure and for 16 years we have had one. So finally just this week we received the letter of extension, even though we gave up his green card last year when he got the stamp in his passport. They had forwarded the original one to our PO Box that had been listed on the application for ROC. So...some interesting stuff...

They sent out the original one on September 30. (got this from the original postmark. They included the original envelope just to prove they HAD sent it.

They received it back as not deliverable, no forwarding allowed on October 23rd.

We made our first inquiry on October 30th. We made a few more, including an infopass appointment and at the appt they said one had never been issued for some reason.

There are no ACCO holes in it so I can only figure they didn't put it in our file but simply looked at the correct address this time and sent it out AGAIN.

Hopefully this info helps.
