PBJ considered conviction

It seems reasonable to me that the person who should take AndyMisiu's convictions or whatever into consideration is the woman's who's going to marry him. It also seems some of us haven't been able to show a little compassion and lack faith on people.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

John,

When someone posts they have basically had not one, not two but 3 D.U.I.'s and who knows how many underage violations as he did not go into the details I'm supposed to show compassion? Now I have two questions for you John. How would you feel if the OP were trying to marry your daughter and start a family as it is after all Father's day. Are you going to give your blessing to this union? Would you show compassion and understanding because he only had two convictions and the rest were just PBJ's? How would you feel if your wife encountered this fool on the road today and did not make it home for dinner? I know these are all hypothetical but someone who drinks and drives is not just endangering there life but every person on this board who has a SO. Now imagine this poor girl from Poland who probably has no idea what she is getting into and is ready to trust in him to take care of her and live a long and happy life together. I just hope that the U.S.C.I.S. sends this guy a thank you but not thank you letter. I believe John you would not let this gentleman marry your daughter with his past background. Would that be correct? Maybe I would feel better if he had said he was sorry or that he has been clean for 20+ years and does not touch alcohol or drugs anymore. There seemed to be no remorse in any of his postings. Just a desire to get around the system. That is all he is concerned about. As far as his comment "the hell I've put myself through" that is only true because he was stopped before he could put someone else through hell by not staying sober.

People come here with advice for their unique situations, and this is what they get? What a complete waste of time for anyone looking for answers. Do we need to apologize to everyone we come in contact with for our past mistakes and failures? Get off your high horse please! You are human too, and I am sure their is somebody in this world that you have done wrong to or simply just can't stand you for whatever you are. As for this thread, a person is asking advice, not going to confessional. How about offering advice if you have it and not wasting our time if you don't have it. Thanks alot...

Yeah, it also seems like a complete waste of time to come here and look for advice for IMBRA related circumstances under the "IMBRA Special Topics" thread when all you get is bashed for what you have done. I know this thread is old, but I am new here. I just noticed as I wasted my time how this thread is 3 pages long and offers nothing for the OP. I see, by his time line, that he finally figured it out and got approved. Good for him! No thanks to this board I am sure!

I agree with this.

some of the bashing may have been actually someone trying to be humoress without thinking of the senstivity of the OP.

I didn't read any direct bashing but I hope the OP will return for more answers later.

I have been somewhat open in the forums about me being a SO and have not yet to recieve any rudeness or bashing.

Most VJ people are here to help if not all and unless you are a jerk to them they will either be cordial or ignore you in other topics.

Even in heated OT threads most people are cordial and we enjoy some bickering back and forth.
