BTW...I was looking at your timelines and I have a question

"December 10 -08 Packet three sent on the basis of having NVC case number"

Does that mean you were still on AP at NVC and you sent all the documents to the Embassy regardless ???

It does! I had even had the medical and we were still in AP.

I was in email contact with someone at the consulate here, and once NVC had given me the new case number, I emailed that to them, and they sent the packet out. There are instructions of parts that you can send back at once, so I sent them the first bits back, had the medical done, and all the other paperwork ready to go by the time NVC sent the case on. That way, once they had the electronic file, and even before the actual case had arrived here, I was able to send back the paper you sign that says you have all the documents and can go ahead an set an interview.

After getting hung up sooooo long at NVC, I was in a bit of a hurry, so I am glad I had it all ready, and didn't have to wait for anything else.

so....another dumb question....I already have an NVC case number which is KEV- something, does that mean that it will be given another case number before it goes to the embassy ???

reason why I am asking is because we kind of "jumped the gun" and already scheduled an appointment for the medical..(US Embassy in Ukraine gives you a download option for packet 3 with a list of documents and procedures necessary for the interview), and set it up for mid March...Also, I started gathering all my IRS transcripts, affidavit of support updates, 1099-s, W2s, the works, proof of relantionship, etc, etc, etc, even though our case is still in AP at NVC... so, with all of that said, should I forward all this documentation to the Embassy regardless of what NVC says ?

No..the KEV is the number the embassy will go by. I just meant that after VSC you get a new number at the NVC...good night...I wonder why we don't have the same one all the way through!

I wouldn't send it to them just yet, but I would email them for sure, so they are aware of you, they may be happy to have packet 3 back now, but remember every embassy is different in the way they like to do things. Make sure that when she goes for her medical, she puts the KEV number on it, so it relates to your case.

Having all of the transcripts and paperwork ready to go is excellent, you will send that to Nadya so she can have it for her interview. It will be a big help when they finally send your case on, that you are all ready to go!

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I understand. I spent my last birthday with Viktoria's family. It was kind of a "here is a great reason for all the relatives to come check you out". They were awesome, and I had a great time. I have to say that I am not a big fan of the night train though. Guess I am too spoiled

Where in Ukraine do you visit? Do you travel together?

Brad,

My Fiancee and son are living in Kiev. However she was born in Stakhanov...lovely little town though. :-D

If you have to visit again before processing is complete, I recommend a trip to Lvov if you haven't been. Great family place - very kid friendly and won't break the bank either. :)

Wow.... that's the West part of Ukraine.... where they actually speak Ukrainian.. :-D I was fortunate enough to only go to Stakhanov which is near Lugansk - East (near the Russian border)..It was an 18 hour trip on a train...but guess what ?!?!??!!?! I enjoyed every single minute of it. :-D It brings back good memories of almost 2 years ago when I was there to see her family for the first time....geeeee...talk about being nervous...

I understand. I spent my last birthday with Viktoria's family. It was kind of a "here is a great reason for all the relatives to come check you out". They were awesome, and I had a great time. I have to say that I am not a big fan of the night train though. Guess I am too spoiled

hehehehehe...you said it all my brother...hehehehehehehehe

2 hour flight is awesome....;-)

There you go :dance: We are still dreaming about visiting Turkey when Vika completes AOS. I wanted to go during this last visit, but she planned all our time out with her family (understandably). Her parents did come all the way to Kiev to give a formal blessing before we left - under an Orthodox icon and everything. Very moving, and I was VERY happy not to take the night train to Kherson

Thank you for your words of support. I try to be in Ukraine as much as I can...last year alone, I was there 4 times...in one occasion it was a 3 day weekend just for our son's 1st birthday....

I am starting to wonder if I should start considering moving there until this entire case is resolved...

Joe

LOL, I was feeling the same. I was there 6 times in 10 months, once for three days also. The driver I use was convinced I am absolutely out of my mind.

Anyway, best of luck

I am starting to wonder if I should start considering moving there until this entire case is resolved...

Joe

LOL, I was feeling the same. I was there 6 times in 10 months, once for three days also. The driver I use was convinced I am absolutely out of my mind.

Anyway, best of luck

Were you in Kiev for that period of time (6 in 10 months).... ???? Geee... I thought I was the only freak here :-D :lol:

P.s:... were you ever there for a weekend ?!?!?!

Thank you for your words of support. I try to be in Ukraine as much as I can...last year alone, I was there 4 times...in one occasion it was a 3 day weekend just for our son's 1st birthday....

I am starting to wonder if I should start considering moving there until this entire case is resolved...

Only three times for me - but I was back in January (technically four in twelve months). And Gary's driver is correct - we are all a little nuts to do it - in a good way.
