I was told at the interview it was random. Random. She had a stack of paper she was reading through, and said ..'oh I see you were at NVC for quite a while, in random checks"

I never in my life wished so much I could read upside down!

Kim and Russ were stuck there for three weeks back in September, and then it seemed a great many from around November onward ended up there. 53 days added to my wait sure did not impress me much.

There isn't anything to say so, but it seems to me a percentage of cases are being set aside and subjected to further scrutiny. I guess we just drew

the short straw.

Are we the lucky ones ?!?!?!:-D

Joe... :bonk:

P.s.:....somehow this site has the power of making me smile again after a few hours of affliction.... :D

Lucky as  A choice few!

VJ is an excellent place to be...it's all here, everything you could want to know and then some.. and there is excellent company while you wait it out. I..personally..am addicted

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Oh yes...familiar with the workday week ..and pleased to have left last week in order to get packed up to go.

A entire house to make-over! That will keep you busy, and it's good to have something to do that keeps you occupied! We will be doing up our place once I get there, so I think we have got it back to front

I dunno? but i think you can PM a mod and ask them to "merge" the threads.

btw..getting the house ready is a fantastic way to keep your mind off all the waiting "thumbs:

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Well, I cannot not say it's an entire make-over...just a paint job inside the house until she gets here... then, it will be an ENTIRE MAKE-OVER....furniture, decoration, and so forth and so on...specially Yan's bedroom :-D we are really looking forward to decorating his room together.. :-D

BTW...I was looking at your timelines and I have a question

"December 10 -08 Packet three sent on the basis of having NVC case number"

Does that mean you were still on AP at NVC and you sent all the documents to the Embassy regardless ???

"December 10 -08 Packet three sent on the basis of having NVC case number"

Does that mean you were still on AP at NVC and you sent all the documents to the Embassy regardless ???

It does! I had even had the medical and we were still in AP.

I was in email contact with someone at the consulate here, and once NVC had given me the new case number, I emailed that to them, and they sent the packet out. There are instructions of parts that you can send back at once, so I sent them the first bits back, had the medical done, and all the other paperwork ready to go by the time NVC sent the case on. That way, once they had the electronic file, and even before the actual case had arrived here, I was able to send back the paper you sign that says you have all the documents and can go ahead an set an interview.

After getting hung up sooooo long at NVC, I was in a bit of a hurry, so I am glad I had it all ready, and didn't have to wait for anything else.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

so....another dumb question....I already have an NVC case number which is KEV- something, does that mean that it will be given another case number before it goes to the embassy ???

reason why I am asking is because we kind of "jumped the gun" and already scheduled an appointment for the medical..(US Embassy in Ukraine gives you a download option for packet 3 with a list of documents and procedures necessary for the interview), and set it up for mid March...Also, I started gathering all my IRS transcripts, affidavit of support updates, 1099-s, W2s, the works, proof of relantionship, etc, etc, etc, even though our case is still in AP at NVC... so, with all of that said, should I forward all this documentation to the Embassy regardless of what NVC says ?
