Pim and I are approaching day 150 (The average seems to be 108 days) since our K1 on Sept 19. I have received no RFE's and only one touch in January.

All the timelines show a much shorter average but I see many listed from Aug, July and June...that stiill have not received there NOA2.

So, how long have some waited without RFE's and why might these applications be taking so much longer?

Also, I am traveling to Thailand Next week to deliver my I134 and other info even though I have not received a NOA 2 yet, is there a problem with getting these forms done early...before Noa 2 arrives??

Thanks All

There is no problem with getting things ready ahead of time, it is an excellent idea and good use of the time waiting. I did exactly the same. However I did wait until the last minute on the I-134, probably (really) not necessary, especially when you are well above the guidelines, but I was going to the interview so there was no reason to rush that item (we did not have to send anything to the consulate, we brought it with us). So if you are above the income guidelines and have your 2008 taxes filed, why not? You may want to send some more recent check stubs just before the interview. I gues I prefer to keep financial information as freash as possible. It would also depend on the consulate I was dealing with. Kyiv is easy. I am not so sure about Thailand, but you can get a good idea by looking at the consulate reviews.

Oh, and when I say "send" I mean to your fiancee. Do not send anything to the consulate (I don't know how Tahiland works it) before you have a case number there, they will surely lose it. Give it to your fiancee if you must bring it now.

It is ok to take the I 134 to your fiancee, it's just getting ahead of the game, that's one of the documents you will be needing overthere, this besides W-2 forms and jobe letter.....

Good Luck

Why would some people take so ridiculously long? It seems the average is about 4 months. If those who have been waiting call the USCIS what do they say? Such time discrepancies make no sense.

We have waited 198 without any RFE or security checks. Just no one looked at our case until then. We had infopass appointments and they always told us we were not in security checks just not looked at yet. There is a variety of things that can make your case move faster or slower just like where in the pile you are, what officer you have and if he/she is on vacation or sick, where in the waiting queue you are. From what I have been reading here, people with no RFE or security checks take usually at MOST around 200-230 days. If you are over that it is almost certain that you are stuck in security checks.

You should wait for the I134, the embassy likes to have an affidavit of support showing how is your financial situation "right now".
