Date of expiration for the petition..?

I cant remember where I read this or heard about it, but I need clarifying if someone can help pls:)

I heard that when we filed the K1 petition there was a date of expiration somewhere and I believe the London consulate at the time of interview are able to extend this date. Is this true? If so I asked my US beloved to check the NOA1 and NOA2 he got and there is NO expiration dates on it, nor is there one on the letter he got from NVC. What is this expiration date and how does it effect us? Is there anything we need to do? I have my packet 3 but am waiting for my US beloved to get all his documents together before I send the packet 3 to London. Any help/advice/clarification is greatly aprreciated.

27 Feb. 2006: K1 petition sent to Nebraska Service Centre

2 March 2006: NOA1 dated (received in mail on 9 March 2006)

4 May 2006: NOA2!!!!! (DAY 66)

8 May 2006: File Sent to NVC (as stated on email dated 9 May)

24 May 2006: NVC sends our file to London Embassy

8 June 2006: Packet 3 arrives (DAY 101)

25 August 2006: Pack 3 sent to London Embassy registered post

29 August 2006: London Embassy receives my Pack 3 - 9/9/06 pack 4 arrives

SEPT 2006:APPLICATION PUT ON HOLD - WE HAD A FALLING OUT.

MAY 2007:RESUMED THE VISA APPLICATION

6 June 2007: Medical @ 2.30pm - need to get anew GP letter and psychiatric evaluation

7 June 2007: INTERVIEW @ 10am - waiting for new police record letter

3 July 2007: APPROVED/Visa arrives

It doesn't say expiration date ... it specifies a period of validity from xxx to yyy

But, it doesn't matter. The consulate will automatically extend the validity if needed.

I just had my interview in Montreal Canada on the 8th of June. On our NOA2 the validity date was until the 29th of May. I emailed the consulate and they said not to worry they automatically extend it. This is probably routine for all consulates. But you can email yours or call and they will tell you for sure.

our noa2 expires 7/7/06..................the embassy said they will automatically extend it!

call them to be sure-but you should be fine :thumbs:
