Who pays the IV Fee Bill?

Okay. Ready to pay AOS and IV bills at same time. Is it okay for petitioner to pay through their bank account? I'm thinking yes if they're the Agent chosen in DS-3032. Just making sure because the faq here http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3904.html says the IV fee bill is "applicant-specific."

Help please! Getting there!!!

Yes if you chose the Petitioner to be the agent then the petitioner can pay by their bank account.

Thanks for confirming! Just verified it online and the IIN is correct. Both are ready to be paid. My husband is going to take care of it now.

if the choice of agent is the beneficiary but the bill is paid by the petitioner since it has to be paid from a US bank... is that possible?

and how can it be paid if one cannot pay from a US bank?

Thaks a lot :) just asking for now... :)

Either the beneficiary or the petitioner can pay the IV bill. If the beneficiary is going to pay, you can wire the money to the USC and then have the USC pay with his bank account or check.

so if the Choice of Agent is the beneficiary... the petitioner can still pay online anyways since it has to be with a bank account? Visas and master cards are not good for that?

Thanks

I just talked with NVC on the phone. The lady operator said it's okay for the petitioner to pay. You can call NVC just to be sure it's okay for your case. But to be honest, I wonder why NVC would make it hard for people to pay them. :D

Hi there,

The AOS bill is $70 and the IV Bill is $400.

Hope that helps!

BTW, I just paid both online and when I spoke to an NVC rep she indicated that you can pay both at the same time.

Oh, I love this forum...

I was just reading the FAQ on NVC site and got alarmed about this part where the beneficiary has to pay IV bill, but now my worries have been put to rest:)

You can pay both bills one after another in same session (as allowed by web site) and using US bank’s checking/ saving account are only option while paying online (no credit card accepted).

Beneficiary can pay IV fee bill (and/ or AOS bill) if dealing with NVC alone and did not assign anybody through DS-3032 (choice of agent) otherwise petitioner or any agent/ attorney to whom beneficiary authorized through DS-3032 form.
