NVC Phone Message

When I call the automated message system at the NVC, they say that we are missing information or they need more documentation. They also said they have sent a letter out on 11 Feb, but neither I nor my wife have received this letter. It seems that if they did send a letter, then we should have received it by now. We're wondering if they just said this because I sent the I-864 in, paid the IV fee, and then my wife sent in the DS-230 before they could update it for their records. Hence the "we need more information" response.

I can't understand why they would need more information. I sent in everything that was required and then some. I sent more than enough information on my financial background that should have cleared with no problems. I wish there was some way to find out from the NVC what they actually need instead of waiting for a stupid letter.

Anyone else have a situation like this?

Call the NVC number, and follow the options to speak to an operator, and then ask to speak to a supervisor. It is most likely because of the timing of the I-864 package and DS-230 packages.

We also had a letter for "missing information" sent out on the 11th. We have not recieved it either. When I spoke to an operator, she said that the missing information was the DS-230 packet!!! Well since we only sent it today - of course it's "missing" although it's not REALLY missing - because we know where it is!!

Anyway, we were worried it had to do with our I-864 as well, but she said everything with that is fine and it just means they are waiting for our DS-230. How annoying!! I'd say you are probaly in the same boat and you should just speak to an operator to be sure.

Thanks for the help. We were wondering if thats what it was all about, the delay between the I864 and DS-230. We spoke with the Embassy in Frankfurt, and they told us the same thing. So, I guess we'll just wait it out and hopefully the NVC will update the phone message soon.

Call the NVC and push 1 and then 5. That will get you to an operator. The operator will tell you what is missing and what you have to do. When I got an RFE I called the day I found out and was told exactly what the problem was. I mailed the corrected forms to them on the same day.

If the operator can't tell you, then ask to speak to a supervisor.

There is nothing to find out. The message was generated in both our cases a bit of tiem had elapsed and NVC has not recived our DS-230's. If nothing happens right away after they have accepted the I-864 a messge is sometimes generated that says SOMETHING is missing. The "SOMETHING" in this case was the DS-230. So it's not a real RFE...

A friend of mine at NVC thought there was something still missing from an RFE that she answered and had already sent what was asked for. When she spoke to NVC all it was - was that the AVR system had not been updated and it was still reflecting the RFE that she had already dealt with. Just be aware that not all things that appear to be RFE's really are... make sure you DO follow them up - but investigate and find out what it is before you panic!

Exactly the same happen with our case. The automated message at NVC tells me that we are missing information and they need more document. They also say that they had sent a letter to me at 11 Feb. Today, at 20 Th Feb. I still wait on the mail from them..

Yesterday we called NVC and they only let us know, we review it and call back about 10 days. I had also interview for my K3 visa 26 Th Feb. but shall probably cancel my interview because I want to go the CR1 route now. I had also written to the embassy and ask if I can switch to a CR1 interview instead of the K3 next week..

Let see what’s happen now. This system it’s very confusing.
