How do I get here?

Ok so both of us need to travel from London (Croydon) to Cardiff for some official business, but we are so confused on how to get there.

We need to get to Cardiff from Croydon

I found some good rates on a coach from Central London to Cardiff, but I don't know how far the bus station is from where we are trying to get, and it is a time-sensitive thing, so we need to plan everything carefully.

This is what I have so far:

From London to Cardiff by coach, this is the bus station it drops us off to:

CARDIFF, Bus Station, Wood St, South Wales

We are trying to get here:

General buildings, 1st Floor, 31-33 Newport Road, Cardiff, Wales, CF24 0AB

How much farther would be need to go to get here if we went by coach and it dropped us off at the given location?

I can't seem to find anything online that is helping me figure it out, I hope someone can come along and point us in the right direction.

Like is there some easier way to get to this location instead of coach? Or would we be able to take a bus from the Wood st. bus station to Newport Road? And where can I find bus info if this is an option?

Thanks!

i done it for you its like a 20 minute walk! but im sure there will be lots of taxis about that will drive you! i been there a few times its quite easy to navigate around! the millenium stadium is in the centre of the town and you can see it ! so you can use this as a land mark to navigate around!

i got a question for you!! can you travel in usa once you are married on K1?before we send off AOS ... because we want to go to VEGAS!!!! for a 4 day honey moon and i just needed to find this out real quick!!

Oh  I don't know why googling it didn't come across my mind! Yes, you can travel anywhere you want within the United States. As long as you are within the USA you are fine. Just be sure to have some kind of ID with you when traveling domestically, your foreign passport with the K-1 visa will be just fine!

The train should be faster and more dependable on time table. No chance of getting snarled in traffic on the motorway. Train station looks to be about a 20 min. walk too.

It's about 2 hours from Paddington. Try raileasy.co.uk to check prices. In advance and booking online might get you some good deals depending on time of day and day of week. Their website says book in advance and save up to 80%. For example Thurs March 5--- 23 quid or 40 for first class. If you book online you just put your same credit card in the machine at the train station and it recognizes it and spits out the tickets you've booked.

Colin---Vegas is in the US, not another country. You won't go through any immigration to get there. Just don't leave the US without your Advance Parole papers or a green card. You can't get back into the US on your K1 visa once you've used it to enter.

Just a head's up ;)

If you're travelling by train to an event at the Millennium Stadium, go to your local station and book a reservation (or do it online). Don't walk up on the day and expect to get a ticket. Trains to Cardiff on match/event days tend to be absolutely rammed and more often than not, the train company will designate the trains before and afterwards as 'reservations mandatory' - meaning no pre-booking = no travel.

I've travelled on a such a 'reservations mandatory' train to Cardiff without a reservation before now but I had to stand in the door area the whole way there and back with about 20 other sweaty Brighton fans . Further, I saw a few people get turned away at the Paddington ticket barrier for not having an advance booking.

After the event, the station will probably be running a queue system outside, it looks chaotic but they're very good at what they do and will get you on a train home surprisingly quickly :D

Thanks for the heads up! :star:

We are not going to an event, rather it is official business. But we surely don't want to be late because of an event, as you mention it will be chaotic if there is an event. So if we see sweaty and rowdy Brighton fans on the way there and back, we won't be alarmed :) And thanks to everyone's kind help we got our reservations well in advance for train tickets online round trip. It is also better to do prebooking because they are so much cheaper online and you get a special discount rate (we got it with First Great Western Train with 87% discount!). And if we get stuck in a queue on the way back at the station, we won't be alarmed. We really appreciate everyone's advice, suggestions, and help!

We are going on official business and any head's up or advice is good to calm us if we experience something like you mentioned. We have been to Cardiff before but by car, not by train, so it will be a new experience!

Thanks everyone!
