i think some of the cards you get are regional but i know champion can be gotten online anywhere in the US.

go to: masterbell and they have alot of different cards with different rates to pretty much anywhere in the world. this is where i got the champion card from and still use the site to recharge it.

ps: good luck wog.

yes they do, which is strange, because to call a cell phone from australia the rate is the same but from the US to australia it doubles or more.

normally when you use the phone card, it will tell you how many minutes you have left between dialling the number and connecting the call and when you call an australian mobile you find that the minutes remaining will probably halve.

hope this helps.

we used Penny Talk and he still uses it to call home.

The rate is like 2 cents a min...I think...but more if you ring a cell phone.

Good luck Wog.

i don't know. i've had some really bad lines, so i've hung up and rung again and it seemed like it cleared up.

i would say that if you are using a phone card then that line may be the problem.

i would just hang up and call again.

also, arthur, i don't know which phone card you are using in australia but a very good one is boost calling card. you can get them at woolworths and they are rechargable. you pay a 49c connection fee and it is 1c a minute.

I normally use daybreak for my calls to the United States, at 2.4 cents/minute with no connection fee.

On the weekend I used, "Happy Calling" but they charge a whopping one dollar as a connection fee even though it's only 0.9 cents/minute. Good if you're making long calls.
