Hi All

Hello, I am Lucy from Philippines and Ive been a member here since October 2008 but this is the first time I am posting a topic. I wanted to ask something about medical records. You see, I had a myomectomy surgery(a non-cancerous tumor was removed from my uterus) last September 2008 in Japan. My question is, Do i need to bring my previous medical records during the Medical Check up? Do i need to have it translated in English?

Yes, you should bring any medical history you have. They will know that you have a surgery cuz obviously in the physical exam the doctor will ask you to undress and put on the gown that they provided for the patients. The doctor will check all parts of your body, so that means they will see your scar surgery on your abdomen and better have it translated in English (minna wa wakaranai dakara hehehehe). I brought my medical certificate cuz I was admitted for gastroenteritis. She will just look at it and attached it to your medical record forms. They are just concern about the contagious diseases like tb and aids. Good luck to you.

Yes you will need these records as was stated prior.

If you have scars of any sort, you will ned proof that the scar was not a rsult of an abortion or other surgery that may be grounds for dismissal. or rejection. Always bring any pertinent records to the Embassy to avoid any chance of review, or interest of conflict. In time, they would require you to return, manke a new appt time,and delays would take place..so never underestimate what they may want. Too much is always a general rule when attending anything at the Embassy, or Medical. Sounds like over kill, and ridiculous...but as we say...better prepared, then not.
