Ok, I'm sending some very important original documents to my fiance for her K1 visa interview in Manila. Should I use FedEx? US Postal? what about insurance? These documents are priceless!

Please help. I want to make sure all of this stuff makes it to her, and I'd like to track it too.

Thanks, Mike

There is no guarantee anything you send to the Philippines by any method with not get lost. I found that padded mailers are reliable, and marking the packages as "Contains Documents Only" always worked. You can use registered mail with the post office. Fedex, UPS, and DHL are reliable as well. I don't know if you can insure documents. Can you send "certified copies" instead?

My fiance used fedex. I would suggest to keep a copy incase something happened to the documents.

Last I heard Fedex was shutting down their Philippine operations.

I used a USPS Global Express small box I got at the PO. Made it OK.

Even mailed a lap top USPS Global Express with success. Only time I got ripped off was cards and letters that look like they contain money!

I suggest DHL.

I sent my docs to Mindanao, farther than Manila and it arrived in 3 days. The package was 9LBS with all our original documents, it arrived safely! it cost $160 but hey that's my life in that BOX!

Dun use FED EX! ops shutdown for them already back home

PM me for any AP or AR relating to the NBI

So which should I use? DHL or FedEX? USPS Global Express? I am shipping from US to Manila? Did Fedex really shut down?

This is totally up to you, I suggest DHL and the other person suggest USPS.

I was very satisfied with DHL, I got txt updates, email updates. I sent from Seattle, WA, I got updates when my package got to Ohio, Anchorage, Manila then finally it's final destination in Mindanao.

So the decision lies with you, I am just very happy with DHL and how fast and safe they delivered AND they kept me posted every single step of the way.

Fedex closed down the Philippine hub. Feb. 7 2009.

Looks like DHL. I've used them coming this way with good results.

My husband sent very important documents to me before by scanning those documents and sending those to me in jpeg files to my email. I just printed those out in PI. That's the safest and fastest way. And everything went well on my interview in the embassy.
