Help with Russian police report

I need some help on trying to understand the police reports from Russia and the surrounding republics.

My fiancee is having her interview in Moscow in 7 weeks. She is worrying about the police reports from 16 years and older.

She is worried her report from Russia is not going to go back to when she was 16. She lived in Azerbajain when it was part of Russia. She left the country before it became an independent republic.

Will her Russian report show from birth until present??? She left Azerbajain when she was 22 but it was still a part of Russia before it split up.

I told her to wait until she recieves the report from Russia and see what the dates say.

Has anyone been thru this with the other break away republics???

I don't know the answer to your question, but here is the site for the US Embassy, Moscow and the requirements:

http://moscow.usembassy.gov/fiancee.html

Police certificates in all names as well as all dates of birth ever used. Police certificate must contain references to each place (subject to the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation) in which the applicant lives or has lived for more than six months since attaining the age of 16. This includes localities where applicants have lived during university studies. If the applicant was on military service, he/she should bring the certificate from the local draft board. If an applicant has lived abroad for more than one year, a police certificate must also be submitted from the country in which he/she lived. Police certificate validity is one year since the date of issuance.

This tells me that the report should only include places she lived that were subject to the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation since she was 16.

Maybe someone else can give a better answer. I think you will just have to wait and see. If Russia does not have jurisdiction, I don't see where it is a problem.

Thanks

I'm hoping the report contains all the years from 16 and older since Azerbajain was under Russian juridiction when she lived there.......???

It becomes a problem when you try and get another report in a small time frame. The customer service is not the best which you probally know.

I wouldn't even worry about it.

As long as she has a good report from Russia, she'll be fine.

My wife was born and lived in Kyrgyzstan until she was 21. We went ahead and got a police from there as well as the police report from Russia. It wasn't easy but we didn't want to chance it. We started by contacting they Kyrgyz embassy in Moscow. They did keep this report at her interview at the US embassy.

Just to clarify, Azerbajain was never a part of Russia...
