My pooky boo is 24, will be 25 in Sept. I just turned 27. I always said I would ~never~ marry a younger guy bcz they are immature.... anyways... Adam was raised by his grandmother and surrounded by his mother and sister. No brothers. I on the other hand was raised around bad brothers, and guy friends. Adam and I are sooooo different in personalities.

Maybe birth order would have something to do with it? (He's the youngest son and the fifth out of six kids.) His mom's also pretty self-sufficient and physically active (has climbed trees and killed snakes as an adult -- I love this woman), and I get the impression she taught her sons to pitch in around the house when needed, or at least to clean up after themselves in the bathroom, etc. The women did wait on the men a good bit there, but when he arrived here, he didn't seem to expect that from me (except in the sense that he waits on me and enjoys it when I do the same).

ya maybe so. Yazied is the oldest of 5.

His mom works and she is constantly telling him "when you get there, you remember she works and is a mother..help her!" :luv: I love my MIL!

All of his aunts pin him down when they get the chance and give him "pointers" too lol

The poll's not working for me.

Hubby will soon be 35, I'll soon be 56. I've known him since he was barely 28. He was mature then. He's the youngest of 3 boys and two girls, with a loveable mom who's a pistol. His parents raised him well. :)

You and I have the same age gap with our husbands. What do his parents think about your age? We have told my in laws I'm a few years younger than I really am. :-P

They know how old I am, and they're fine with it. I'm only 5 years younger than his mother, and that gives us a special bond coz I understand her needs so well. Although I'm in great shape, I have a great deal of empathy for the limitations of age that they have, having lived a harder life, so I tend to pamper them and support my husband when he wants to help make their lives easier. They deserve it and don't take advantage.

My hubby is 38 and I am 33.

I am 38 and he's 27 ( the other way around - I do look MUCH younger than my age, I am lucky no wrinkles yet )

comeon...NO WRINKLES??

I would say you are lucky!

I mean everyone says I look way younger than I am and I have 3 kids too. 1 just turned 16 but still I can see the darn crowfeet's and the frown lines

these last 2 years have aged me tremendously

I am 36 and hubby is 27

they sell a solution to that problem now...

Is it wrong to wish my husband had a starter wife?

I can not imagine what my husband was like when he married his ex wife. He was the only son!!! Oh well, at least I didn't have all of the breaking in to do like I would have.....

NO i wish mine had one!

It's not wrong but let me tell you the ex wife is a pain in the bootayyyyyyyyy!!! I keep trying to marry her off...anybody know someone? I asked my husband don't you know somebody that would take her? He said uh, well I'd have to lie when they came and asked me why I divorced her. LOL.

There are pros and cons of it....

it suprised me that meeting me and SEEING me made such a difference from her original thinking.

Were your in laws ok with it, childress?

I just wanted to add that I think no matter the age difference "we" as american girls have more life experience than the men who were never married before..agree?

Well, his mom had him young, so she is actually a couple of years younger than me. :-P His dad is older than me, so that's OK. So, when my husband first told his mom about me, he told her my real age. She was shocked, told him he was crazy, and hung up on him. Then he sent her my picture. She asked him why he told her I was 45 when I looked 36! She was OK with 36, so since then we've let her believe I'm 36. But I'm thinking eventually she might find out the truth? Maybe by then she won't care, because they know me now and they love me. :-)
