I found the NYS site but it seems to me it takes 2 months to request the tax return and you have to wait another two months for the one you just filed? Did anyone send just the federal tax transcripts or did you manage to get both ( fed & State )? If so, how long did they take to come? I know federal takes about two weeks. Thanks again.

My first day to send off my stuff was Feb 7th. We have not received her W2 yet. I got the last year's transcript, but it looks like I can't send it in. I don't wanna wait any longer. Could I send it in once I get it? I doubt I could unless they would send me a RFE, so I could just attatch it.

Any ideas?

Why can't you send in last years transcript? I would send it.

You can send in the Federal Transcript and copies of the State tax forms. That is what I did. There is not a transcript for the State here that I know of.

Sorry, I meant I probably can't send this year's transcript. Well ok, would not be the transcript anway, sicne they do not have it until June. I mean just the tax return. Not sure when she will get it... but don't really want to put it off any longer.

I didn't even send in this year's tax returns as I hadn't filed in January - when I sent in the N400. So, my wife will carry copies of the tax return and other stuff when she has her interview. Technically you can file your taxes until April 15th so if you are filing your N400 before then - that would probably mean that you don't have your tax returns filed by then (and its OK to not worry about sending what you don't have) - worse case they will RFE you for it and then you can send them the copies if you have filed by the time you get the RFE (for example I have filed since I filed her N400 and now I do have copies if they RFE us for it). Good Luck
