Any Experience Shipping Auto Parts? ( USA to JAMAICA)

hello~

back from the mechanics, and im trying to sort out some details

the car needs tie rod, struts and mount

the mechanic is finding it very difficult to locate parts for 2002 ford escort here in JA

(we have friend in kingston on the hunt also)

ive found the parts online-

just wondering if anyone has any experience with shipping auto parts to JA

any thoughts or ideas are appreciated

Want the name of some junkyards? I spent a lot of time in them on my last trip!

I haven't had any experience with shipping them - But know people who have brought them down in their luggage -

my dad never recommends that people ship car parts to Jamaica, runs the risk of being stolen.

don't even get me started on the driving thing........ i obviously dont know how to drive, i mean... ive only been driving over half my freaking life

its lovely driving with somebody screaming in your ear, telling you that you dont know what you're doing

guess what? i wont drive with him anymore, its not worth it

granted, its different here, but COME ON

n e time, my dad's a mechanic and he always tell people better you buy it there unless you can bring it down with you when you're travelling.

This topic always makes me think of Joseph Hill from Culture - Many years ago, my friends and I were sorta on tour with them (long story!) It was the first time I had ever met him - We were following the bus in my car, and had stopped at a rest stop - He came up to me and asked me where he could buy a truck cab - First, I didn't know what he was talking about - secondly, we were 3 states away from where I lived! My friends and I were hysterical that he thought I would know where to get one - never mind the thought of how he was going to get it to JA!

don't get me started, i've know people who brought down mufflers parts, front the back...

The only things we've brought down related to car parts were lights, spark plugs, horn, just small things for a car. I've brought fans (ceiling) down in my suit case that's the biggest item, of course you have to take it apart.
