Is it odd to wait more than eight weeks for an interview?

Timeline

...and she said it happens all the time. I've done some research and Ghana has some of the longest waits for interviews but then others who have done research say it's odd that I've waited more than a month (these are Ghana filers). The NVC automated line asks you to talk to an operator if it has been more than eight weeks. The operator just gives you the same tired, scripted response that they schedule interviews based on embassy capacity blah blah blah. I suppose I just want to rant. But anywhoo....anyone been waiting more than eight weeks? What steps did you take to get scheduled? Allah be praised if we're scheduled this week, we've been waiting so looong.

I-130 NOA1 : 2008-07-03

I-130 Approved : 2008-08-04

NVC Received : 2008-08-21

Received DS-3032 / I-864 Bill : 2008-09-09

Pay I-864 Bill 2008-09-09

Receive I-864 Package : 2008-09-11

Return Completed I-864 : 2008-11-27

Return Completed DS-3032 : 2008-09-13

Receive IV Bill : 2008-10-01

Pay IV Bill : 2008-10-01

Receive Instruction Package : 2008-10-04

Case Completed at NVC : 2008-12-16

NVC Left : 2009-02-11

Interview Date : March 30th, 2009 @ Accra Embassy.

RFE: April 22nd, 2009 @ Accra Embassy.

2nd RFE: May 13th, 2009 @ Accra Embassy.

Visa Received : Told to pick up Visa May 15th, 2009 @ Accra Embassy.

UPDATE: When May 15th arrived, Ali received a call to pick his Visa the following Friday, May 22nd @ 8 AM @ Accra Embassy. Apparently, they are behind in processing.

US Entry :

Comments : FREE AT LAST! OH Good LORD, we're free at last!

Processing

Estimates/Stats : Your I-130 was approved in 32 days from your NOA1 date.

I waited for a year before i got anything.......................

yeap , the operator named Ozzy n Sarah said the same tired, scripted response that they schedule interviews

based on embassy capacity blah blah blah n that they schedule 2nd week of each month.

well , hope both us will get the interview date for next month this week.

Just be glad your not in China. 4-6 months just to get the papers to the embassy and not interview date until papers are reviewed. 3+ months for me and still waiting.
