A friend of mine entered the US as a tourist visa and she got 6 months. Some days before her months expired, she requested Political Asylum and she gained 4 more months.

Since tought it was going to be easy and fast, and it really wanst, she decided to marry a american citizen and he aplied for her adjustment of status.

I told her she was completely nuts cause its obvios they will see she is just trying to stay...

What do you guys think? Isnt it crazy?

It may throw up a red flag or it may not. If she entered legally and is now married to a USC much is forgiven.

Yeah.. but it appears to be a revolving door of trying to stay in the US... If I was adjudicating the case, it would look really fishy to me... You apply for asylum and then 4 months later, presto you're adjusting status based on marriage. I would talk to an attorney about this, but there will likely be a rough road ahead for this couple...they need an attorney to guide them over that rough road.

Can I be your ditto machine next week, m?

 Yes, I need one for next week actually. Just be me. It's easy. Copy and paste "Please read the pinned post at the top of the forum" or "read the Guides, blue tabs, top of the page".

Either one of those is a suitable replacement for me!
