Anyone else in UK waiting for Packet 3?

We received our NOA2 a couple of weeks ago which was dated 23 January 2009. That was directly from USCIS as we went via DCF.

Although the weather was awful last week, it does seem like it's taking a while to move along with the Immigrant Visa Unit at the US Embassy in London.

Just curious if anyone's in the same situation and waiting on the paperwork.

2008 Dec 01: Sent I-130

2008 Dec 04: Application returned (needed to supply proof of residence in UK)

2008 Dec 08: Sent amended I-130 with evidence

2008 Dec 10: Application filing date

2008 Dec 23: Received letter requesting interview about petition

2009 Jan 22: Appointment at US Embassy (verification of marriage bona fides)

2009 Jan 23: Approval of I-130

2009 Feb 13: Received Packet 3

2009 Feb 16: Returned Packet 3

2009 Feb 24: Medical exam at Knightsbridge Doctors

2009 Mar 05: Received Packet 4

2009 Mar 30: Visa interview - approved

2009 Mar 31: Visa received via SMS courier

i'm not waiting for packet 3 but i'd blame the weather. when i called home today to check on a bill arriving my dad told me everything was pretty much closed last week, no mail or anything. i'd give it a bit longer to compensate for that. :)

Thanks for your response npearce. Have you received a case number yet?

My understanding was that it usually takes 1-2 weeks for the Immigrant Visa Unit at the US Embassy in London to send Packet 3. Perhaps there might be some delays with the post.

I send you my best wishes and hope the Packet comes soon for the both of us.

Hey

My packet 3 still hasn't arrived, I don't think that it ever will!

I posted a thread on it here about it being lost in the post and I was posted a link to all the forms that you need - I did that, and I got an email saying they have my forms and I should have an interview date within 4-6 weeks. I would go ahead and use the online forms.

We have received our NOA2 for quite some time as well. When I called the embassy they said it takes 2-3 weeks for them to sent it. So my understanding is to wait for a bit longer. I just hope it wont take that long. Hope we all receive it soon

I'm waiting for mine too...to be honest I don't know how long to expect to wait? I don't know how it works after NOA2....we haven't even had the paper copy of that either! Does that come from USCIS or NVC? And when people say they can see that its been sent from NVC to embassy, just how do they know?? :help:

The NOA2 comes from USCIS, if you don't receive it within a couple of weeks of your date then start chasing them as you need it for AOS and its very costly to get a replacement.

You can ring the NVC 1-603-334-0700 press 1 and 5 to get to an operator. Give them your USCIS case number and they will tell you if you have a case number allocated and whether it has left the NVC for London.

Once it has left the NVC you can start ringing DoS to find out its status with the embassy 1-202-663-1225 press 0 then 1 to get the operator

Do yourself a favour and call the dept of state in the US. you can get the number by searching the forums here. give them your london case number and they will give you a status update and it is the price of a regular call in the US. They will give you the date long before london send you a letter :-)

Thank you for providing us wit that number I was wondering how to contact them. We already have the LND number does this mean we can send the form for P3?

are you thinking of the 1-202-....... number in the US for the dept of state? If it is that number I have called them and they have answered me by saying that they don't know since the doc were already in London and I should be contacting them. If it is another number that I could call and find out I would very much appreciate it if anyone knows that number?
