The consulate in Ciudad Juarez received our petition from the NVC on Jan 1 and on Jan 31 our lawyer received the letter inviting us to being consular processing. Everything that's in the packet is also on the consulate's website. I hate that you're waiting!

I'm a little unclear on the process and would appreciate some help.

1. Does the Juarez Embassy send a letter to us when they receive the application from the nvc?

I got the letter on 1/28/09 from the nvc dated 1/23/09 saying they will send the application to Juarez within a week, but since then I haven't heard anything from NVC nor the consulate in Juarez.

2. Also, where exactly can I find the interview date? Does that come in the packet that Juarez sends?

Thanks and good luck to everyone waiting for their packet!

The embassy doesn't send a letter when they receive the application from NVC. I called them and found out when they received it. Once you get the invitation letter (or know that it has been sent by calling the embassy) you can go for an interview at any time. It is an open invitation.

I called the embassy today and found out that they sent out Aldo's invitation letter on January 21. We haven't received anything yet, but we are going to go ahead and make travel arrangements and print all the forms out from the embassy's website. If the letter doesn't come before he goes then the embassy can print it out at the interview.
