they are quite slow in the uk...really dont have that fast paced worth ethic like america. (no offense).

its been 17 days now....10 working days went by on friday. so he def. should have received it today but nothing :(

sadly, it looks like the package i sent to him on the 4th will get to him sooner then this silly certificate

Hi just wanted to say I am in the exact same boat. Sent on 19th Jan, phone call on 21st (for which country? - which I'm SURE I answered, I thought that was a bit weird). They only cashed the cheque 4th Feb. So they've had it 16 working days now. I am tempted to call on the number on the form but I'm in no rush so thought I'd wait a bit longer from when the cheque was cashed. Weird though cos I've heard people say they've been really quick in the past.

Your comment does make me giggle the " uk..really dont have that fast paced worth ethic like america. (no offense)."

Isn't the USCIS american............would not say that they were particularly quick with processing my visa

give them a call, I called them to check something before sending and they were really helpfull and it does not cost £1.20 a minute like the US embassy over here

Well i was justing saying pretty much everywhere i have gone in the uk is soooo damn slow. you dont have waitors that come to you and ask if you want to drink til 20 minutes after youv sat down n then another 20 minutes to get your drink.....at mcdonalds it takes 5-10 minutes for them to make the fast food (i swear they are killing the cows back there).....just in general all jobs seem they just take work real slow. no matter wat they are doing. america is a fast paced country unlike all the other laid back european countries. again, no offense to anyone. but when i went to a real nice restaurant with my fiance...it was SUPER hard to get any kind of service....we yelled to them if we could order food, etc.

Nick's came in 4 days. The form instuctions also say:

The following factors are likely to delay the processing of a Certificate:

  • Incomplete information provided
  • Inability to authenticate your current address
  • Failure to enclose correct payment
  • You are subject of impending/outstanding criminal proceedings
  • An event or occurrence outside of ACRO’s control, for example a postal strike or computer systems failure.
He must have filled out the form wrong if they had to call. That would be his fault, not the slow UK workers. Does he have any outstanding criminal proceedings. Could be any of the five reasons.
