What's your favorite restaurant in USA ?

My husband has a Chinese co-worker who has taken us to some really good Chinese restaurants in Atlanta. I'll ask him to check with her and get some names for you (I think one was the Oriental Pearl in Chinatown and another was at the other end of the mall area from the Oriental Pearl). We have a really good Thai restaurant down here south of the City but I am sure there are others much closer to you. I also have an acquaintance of a friend who runs one of the few real Irish pubs in the area. I'll try to get the exact address for that as well. We haven't been there but have heard wonderful things about it. I agree though, I miss a good Irish/British pub, too.

I have favorite restaurants from places I have lived in my life -

Washington DC - Old Glory (bbq)

California - a couple great hole in the wall Mexican places

Georgia - The Flying Biscuit Cafe, Schroeder's New Deli

And many more I can't think of now.

For chains, I used to like Romano's Macaroni Grill and On the Border. Also Moe's Southwest Grill and Sweet Tomatoes (I LOVE salad bars! And Sweet Tomatoes usually has fresh raw julienned beets which I love). I say, used to like, because I live in a fairly rural area and I have not been to one of those chains since I left Georgia

Fast food places that I love are White Castle and Chick Fil-A. I wish there was a Chick Fil-A near us in NY, when we were n Florida on vacation we ate it like 3 or 4 times in one week, LOL.

When I was down in GA visiting my fiance's family I saw a Chick Fil-A and had never eaten there before so I suggested we eat there for lunch. Instead of being a normal person and saying "Chick Filet" I said it exactly how its advertised Chick Fil-A.....my fiance burst out laughing in the food court and said this is not a sports brand...its filet...not FILA!!! He says sometimes I must have a few blond strands in my hair! LOL!

Which area of Florida? (Sorry if I seem like a pest..... trying to give you specifics on good/bad places to eat but there's no point in mentioning them if you're not anywhere close to that area.)

Alessi's Bakery (it's like a Deli really) in Tampa is awesome, esp. when they have the baklava... mmmmm. They are good for lunch.

Stonewood Grill is good too they have an excellent wine selection if thats your thing.

Oh yeah as mentioned a few times already. I forgot to say for fast food In and Out Burger is definatly the best on the planet. Animal Style!!!

I'm surprised so many are listing the Olive Garden. I swore that's in Canada too or at least used to me wasn't it?

Yes, they're in Canada. Not everywhere though. They weren't in Saskatoon when I lived there. I'm surprised anyone would find it great. To each their own though. I've eaten there a lot of times, and I enjoyed it, but it's certainly not too "Italian" and not all that great. Just my opinion.

Yes, it's in Calgary too. I have eaten there a couple of times, maybe it's one of those chains where in some places it's fabulous and some places it's just....ok. Then again there was usually a line out the door at the one in Calgary - but Calgary is crowded

Actually there's a great cheap and good chineese restraunt right in Santa Ana/Costa Mesa by the airport near the corner of Bristol and Santa Ana in the plaza there.

Joes Crack shack I'm not impressed with. I'm a huge seafood person, so I eat it several times a week at home (octopus, cuddlefish, clams, squid etc). Red Lobster is far better then Joe's is. They're food is kind of more like a Long John Silvers fast food style seafood rather then the good style. Plus too much of it seems to be fried which I despise in my seafood (other the odd fried squid as an appetizer, but that's it)...
