Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the info - quick question - I spent a year in the U.S on an internship (on a J1 Visa), this was when I met my Fiancee. Does anyone know If I will have to acquire any additional Police records apart from the UK certificate? Cheers

You don't need a US certificate the Embassy does US background checks direct.

Thanks a lot, appreciate the confirmation  - also just saw the official wording from the US embassy: Please note that the Immigrant Visa Unit considers the police certificate valid for 12 months from the date of issuance, not six months as stated on the certificate. If anyone else is interested in the blurb from the embassy - http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/iv/ds2001.html#pc
