Hi... My fiance has a 2 part first name (Philippines) and a middle name that I am just now finding out about. I thought the second part of her first name was her middle name so the petition and everything up until her application reflects (Novie) as first name and (Mae) as middle name. The reality is her first name is Novie Mae. I have told her to fill out her DS forms accurately and to go ahead with the medical. I will fly to the Philippines and hope to be able to explain my error.

What is the likelyhood of a rejected application and what recourse will I have.. anyone..

Thanks... Tom (and Novie) :help:

hello, sorry to hear that error.

in philippines, middle name is the mother maiden name, if that person has two name like ur fiancee, she should put all that two names as first name, middlename is (mother maiden name), last name(father lastname), i think ur fiancee knew that? and it is found in the birth certificate, unless if there is error of her birth cert? am pretty sure that she knew what to put in middle name, maybe that time when she filled-up the form she was just excited :-). anyway, maybe it was honest mistake? hehehe

i pray that u will settle it when u fly to PI before her interview, am sure, the embassy will ask u affidavit of that errror or legal affidavit....

anyway, goodluck , go go go , u can do it!!! God bless

Try what I did on Monday since I screwed up the middle name. I called the embassy and asked them what to do in my specific case.

Another thought is to check the NBI. Have obtain it with the name on the BC and then do an Also Known As. Then you should be covered from that angle also.

I doubt that will even be necessary in this case. You might want to try contacting the embassy, but your fiance might be able to just clear up the typo at the interview. I don't suspect it will be a big issue.
