Thanks for posting this question. My S.O. will be going through BKK as well. I have asked my S.O. many, many times about this. She says it is not needed because she does not have any children. I want her to get one anyway. Can someone else chime in on this to help us. If not we can ask in the Thailand thread..

The link to the other thread was for another country so I'm not sure it is applicable for Thailand.

From Instructions for "K" Applicants (Bangkok Consulate) it asks for "Verification of Unmarried Status"...what is that and where to you get a form certifying you've never been married?

for philippines, national statistics office (census) issues CENOMAR (certificate for no marriage). this is to prove that you are not married at all.

You have to have her go to her district office in her home town, and have it certified there. She will need two family members as witnesses.

I had sent this to another forum member when he asked the same question and his SO had no idea what or where she needed to go.

She needs to go to her hometown, and go the same place she gets her ID card when she is there, the Anamphour (sp?) office. Tell her "Bai Rub Rong Sod", That means the single paper or something like that.

We did try to get it done in Bangkok, but could not, they have to do it at there home town's office, period. Anything pertaining to any official documents has to be done where their house registration is. It is a pain in the butt.

ALL APPLICANTS doing a K1 at BKK need this letter, regardless if they have children or not.
