It's crazy we have known about this weather front for days and still the UK has come to a standstill! Buses canceled, schools closed and only one runway open at Heathrow. It drives me nuts.

Are you going to work? What are the road like in your town?

I'm glad I don't have to go to London.

DID YOU KNOW... that Leicestershire County Council* used to have a fleet of snow-ploughs, immaculately maintained and ready for anything. But they sold them in the late 90s because it looked better on the balance-sheet. And a better looking balance sheet meant an extra 0.01% capital trust allowance, accreditable for next 5 years accrueing on all projects meeting the relevant guidelines**

Its sods law but I actually booked a days annual leave as my daughter has an inset day When I got up I had a message from my boss telling me not to attempt to go in as no-one else was, obviously shes forgotten i'm off anyway!

Fingers crossed its the same tomorrow!!

We didn't get a lot of snow yesterday but we are expecting a lot today.

I work in the village I live in so I have no excuses! However it's very quiet so a lot of people obviously haven't made it in yet. Some come from over an hour away so I don't think they will bother.

My parent's were extremely lucky as they flew into Heathrow at about 1am this morning and just missed them closing the runway.

Well, I'm staying put today and if the forecast is correct, tomorrow as well. And it looks like my neighbours are doing the same. North London is definitely snowed in. About 10 cm on the ground and still snowing heavily. I can't remember it ever being so quite... and I'm near A1.

Zoe, phone the Embassy before if you can because I'm not sure how you'll get to it. For that matter if nobody else is able to get to work how would the Embassy staff do it? Latest reports say the busses have been cancelled and only a limited service runs on Victoria line. I doubt the trains are much better. Good luck.

I do, but I'm working from home today! It takes me about 40 mins to get in and I'm not sure the train is running... My dad is going to try and drive me in the morning, but I don't think there's going to be anyone there!

I just got home, like an idiot I tried to drive to work and after getting 3/4 of the way there scared to death sliding everywhere got a call that they have closed the office so turned back and came home. By the way it is snowing now dont think that things will improve tomorrow.

Just spoke to Dawn and given her details of a hotel near by, she is going to try and come down today

I feel sick for you guys, at least it has just stopped snowing hope it stays that way

Fingers crossed for all who have interviews that they get the roads cleared/gritted and at least some smeblance of transport normality going so you can get your interviews on time.

We have a bit of snow here, but not as bad as elsewhere
