I wanted to share this with yall....I just received two emails from CRIS...

I GOT APPROVED...both my I130 and I129F...

I-130

NOA2 - February 2, 2008

I-129F

NOA1 - August 15, 2008

NOA2 - February 2, 2008

CONGRATS  I noticed that they are reaching the I 130 faster than K3 and once I 130 is approved the K3 date doesn't matter anymore as in your case (you had almost 2 mons b/w both NOA1). I also noticed once your I 130 is approved they are approving the I 129 F on the same date. That's great  because we don't care which one gets approved first ...we just want to hear those words! (more like see them typed or printed!!!) :star::star::star: Hope many of us waiting are next!

NVC Journey: Finally OVER APRIL 21, 2009!!! INTERVIEW PASSED 05/12/09; VISA IN HAND 05/20/09

03/05/09: K3 and I 130 both approved! FINALLY after 230 emotionally trying days @ VSC!!

I am a little annoyed that they didn't even have the consideration to tell me the expedite decision. If it is denied then FINE. Just freakin' tell me. They told the congressman that my file was in the processing unit and I should hear from them shortly. That was 2 weeks ago. Did I hear that they do the background checks before the approvals now? I know how slow Costa Rica can be with EVERYTHING. maybe that is the problem.

I'll keep checking the USCIS site. I'm not getting my hopes up though !

Serendipity now it's your turn and Bri-Aaron

Good Luck

Thanks Aruba ;-) It seems they are approving NOA1's from anywhere between May and August, mine and Serendipity's MUST be in there somewhere! :) I am staying positive.

Jen, make an infopass appointment at your local immigration office and speak to an immigration officer. They can tell you exactly what is being done with your petition. That is what I did. They were able to tell me that on Jan 28th my petition was w/ an adjudicator. Also told me that my petition was held up for extensive security checks (husband born in Muslim country). So having REAL information and accurate information put my heart at ease! I put the links to the infopass appointment in this thread, a few posts back.

Serendipity, if not today, then next week. Seems like lately they've been cleaning up, so to speak. Remember how all last week and this week they were approving April/May petitions? (Even though weeks before they were approving out into freakin October, LOL)...so hopefully if you don't hear anything this week, then next week, God willing. Seems like they're catching up the older petitions now.

Yes, I agree. That is what I intend to do if I don't have an approval by Month # 8. And Aruba congrats on both case #s being assigned :star: . I will be following ur case throughout NVC lol ;) to get an idea how fast things go after approval. I do have a question for you and others who are at NVC now. Did you prepare all needed documents including the affidavit of support in advance prior to getting approved? If so, which docs. can we already prepare so that we can speed up the process after approval?

GS4EVER, you can do a few things to prepare documents before your case approved. Start gathering tax returns & W-2 for the past three years, get your job employment letter, and start filling out the I-864. On the other track you can start looking at the DS-230 and try getting the police clearance certificates ready.
