Wrong middle name in NOA2

Hi Everyone,

Our I-130 petition was approved last January 16, 2009. We already received mail from NVC instructing us to send DS3032 and to pay I-864 bill, but we noticed that my (beneficiary) middle name was printed incorrectly in the mail. We checked the NOA2 from USCIS and we also noticed that my married middle name was also wrong. My married name is Sarah Espinosa Sison, my maiden name is Sarah Galindez Espinosa. In the approval notice, it was Sarah Galindez Espinosa.

Will this cause us problem in my visa application? My hubby will call NVC soon, but just wanna know if you guys have any idea or advise/insights about it?

Thank you very much! This site has been very helpful. :star:

I erroneously wrote that Govi has a middle(caste) name on the I-130 and then found out that he doesn't use that name on documents so I emailed CSC and they said I needed to provide a copy of the beneficiary's birth certificate showing the correct name. I waited until NVC phase since we needed to provide that anyway, in my cover letter with the DS-230 I explained the name issue and now our case is complete at NVC.

Hey thanks for sharing your case....:) I appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure we provided all documents with correct name information before. My passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate and accomplished forms had all my correct name. I assumed that this is due to error in encoding my name in USCIS.

Well, I'm still hoping that this will not create potential problems on our application.

Thanks again! I'm glad you made it through!

We received a NOA with an incorrect name on it. I called the number on the notice and someone answered after being on hold about 45 minutes. The woman who answered the phone was actually pretty helpful and sent out another letter with the corrected information, which arrived about two weeks later.

My husband's last name was misspelled on NOA2 and I called USCIS. They wouldn't help me and were pretty rude. Told me I had to call the NVC because that is where the petition was sent. I called the NVC but never got any written notice that it was corrected, however all written notices since then have the correct spelling, so I guess it worked.

Wish I had read this last night. We had the exact issue. Actually caused by me when we submitted our I-130 and I-129F. I submitted a service request with CSC and they even processed it. But wneh the package got sent to NVC it was still wrong....

So last night at almost the exact time you were creating your entry I was on the phone with USEM and they said no problem. Just remind them at the interview and they will resolve it.

Love forever,

My hubby called NVC early this morning. He was advised to send copy of my passport to NVC. Later or tomorrow, he will send scanned copy of my DS3032 and of my passport to NVC via their email: nvcinquiry@state.gov. He will add a note in the email that they have to correct my middle name and they can refer to the email attachments.
