Hey Sarah,

I feel like the the interview is some what of a formality. Not that you should not worry or be prepared...but it sounds like you are on your game. I would follow your instincts about the papers. You say that the second set confused you and may confuse them as well. Present what you have and take along the extra set and anything additional just in case the ###### does it the fan.

But do not forget that you love Yadar and it is pretty clear to anyone that views your profile. Go in confident and prepared and do not let some little man or woman in a suit with the official stamp cause you to panic  .

I think that the Embassy here in Managua has a good rep so do not worry. I went once with Balvino to ask a few questions through the bullet proof glass and I did not like the way the women was looking at Balvino  . So I talked and charmed a bit and she lightened up :) . So be yourself...you seem very sincere and the rest will happen.

Good Luck.....but I don't think you need it.

thanks all for your advice.

I feel much, much calmer now.

I'm hoping that the second set is just notification that it has been registered. We will just go with the first set in our 'notebook' and stick the others off to the side somewhere (just in case there is a problem).

If the first set was good enough for USCIS then I dont see why they wouldn't be for the consulate.

oh the power of positive thinking...

What makes a divorce final varies widely even within the US but if USCIS approved the petition, it would be rare for a Consular officer to question whether a divorce was final.

No judge banged any gavel for either of my divorces.

I think we are also really hung up on what date to say he was divorced. because it is never clearly stated. Just this paper was handed to this person on this day, and this person said this on this day, and agreed to this at this time on this day. Never does it say, and boom, divorce final on this day.

So I'm afraid he's going to get hung up on dates and they are goign to be like, woah, wait a sec, not right, and all hell breaks loose...

SARAH!!! Re-read my review of junior's interview experience. It was so brief compared to what others have shared. I was freaking out because we have an age difference...and they never even asked anything specific about this or about my kids...I think you are going to be just fine. What I would suggest is that you are sure you have your dates straight in terms of when and how you met and when you became boyfriend and girlfriend. They may actually interview you and Yader separately, so just make sure you agree on these dates! I can't advise you too much about the divorce papers, but I think the more confident you are the better things will go. You are so close...my thoughts are with you in this final stretch!

Hugs!

Emma

Sarah,

I was told by a friend of mine that, there is a new law in Nicaragua that if one person wants to divorce, you might pay a little more but you wont have to wait for it to be finalized. I think before you will have to wait like three months but now, if your relationship is over then is over. So, relax and enjoy your trip, everything will go smooth..

Good Luck.

Re: The denied tourist visa. It is the least of your worries. We sweated on this one unnecessarily. If asked, just tell the truth. He doesn't have to elaborate unless asked.
