Where to get Colombian birth certificate?

My fiance was born in Bucaramanga, but we live in Bogota. Any easy way to get a copy of his birth certificate sent here, outside of going to Bucaramanga? (That's either a long bus ride or a flight we can't afford.)

Pretty sure you're going to have to go there, mine had to go Pereira to Medellin (twice, registro civil and baptismo).

Mi esposa es de Bucaramanga... Le acabo de preguntar a ella si hay otra manera ademas de ir en persona y me dijo que no.... Ella me dijo que si querias... ella te podia ayudar en conseguirlo... me avisas cualquier cosa...

Each newborn baby is registered at a Notary when they are born and their birth certificate will be issued by that Notary forever and ever and ever. So if anyone needs a copy of this document he/she can either go in person to get it or have someone get it for them. But it needs to be issued by the Notary they were registered at.
