What is FPU?

Fraud Prevention Unit

Here is an explanation, (I'm not recommending the owner of the site, BTW, but the explanation on this page is good.)

Sounds like jail. When did that start? It wasn't in place last year.

I don't know when they started it but there is a totally new entrance now a little farther up the road past the foot bridge that is real nice...not like the old one. I am sure the new setup

was in answer to irate fiancees and to give them more protection maybe from airborne diseases also.

Yeah, that's odd to have three. Ann had one guy and they talked about her job and how he could get SCB services cheaper in Thailand while he was there.

I guess they were just slow that day or something. I was surprised when she told me how many she had too. And they were all reading stuff and asking her questions. No wonder she couldn't

speak much English!!! And how can you prepare them for questions like she got when you don't expect them? From what she told me her answers were I think she answered quite well for not knowing

what was coming. She's a smart lady!!!

That was good to read. I am just still pondering whether to explain the divorce situation and where Teaw fit in. The main thing is by April before the divorce in Oct the relationship was in the tank and the

trip in April just cemented in my mind it was the right thing to do. But with her temper displayed on that trip. I felt it better to wait until I got home to bring up the divorce she kept saying she wanted and

I could not get back until Oct to get it. In the meantime Teaw and I moved on with our relationship and took it to a higher level. It's just that when you are not there day in and day out you accomplish what you

can when you are there. I already knew what I wanted and she did too so we got all the papers done for me to file when I got back. Thanks for the link.

The new setup has a deal like some banks...glass window with a microphone for them to speak into and the people on the other side.

That was in place last year (Jan 09). When they are called up to talk to the consular it is through a window and microphone, with a slot to slide papers back and forth just like a bank. I would guess that has been in place for many years.

When you walk in, where they take your evidence is at a desk where the Thai girls work, but the consular is behind glass (most likely with good reason, to keep them from bodily harm).

Interesting... I guess you can tell I've never been there. I guess I just never heard anyone mention that the interviews were like that. :D

The only reason I know is because I went in and talked to the consular to clarify what additional evidence was needed. He wasn't very happy with the thai girl that had been handing him the evidence, cause each time he told me what I needed, I said I have it right here and slid it through the slot. Finally it came down to my chats not having all the text, and not showing calls originating from her to me.

@ AaronLV

I know we discussed this before, but they objected to the chats not having all the text because you omitted portions that discussed very intimate matters or maybe discussing the Embassy and interview itself? Is that right?

Did they finally just accept the edited chats?

I don't know why you need to show calls from her to you. There will not be any for us as we have fixed calling times everyday of the week. I always call her for financial reasons as is obvious. We have additional fixed chat times on the weekends. There is rarely a need for her to call me. When she does need to talk to me, she calls, I let the phone go unanswered and then I call her or go to the computer for chat.

Why do you think I will need to show that she calls me even if it is unanswered? My phone does not store that many unanswered calls.

Thanks if you can answer any of this.

They wanted the chat logs unedited. I followed some advice on here that they just needed to see that you chatted not that what you talked about. Unfortunately that was naive because it was from another embassy. I had nothing to hide in the chats, we didn't talk about intimate details or even about the interview. I just didn't think they needed to read what we talked about.

We had the same arrangement you have with the call and hang up. The reasoning by the consular when I spoke with him, was they wanted to make sure there was two way communication going on. (ie not me always contacting her). I had saved all the miss calls in my smart phone, and extracted them, and then paired them up against my calls to her on my cell bill, and that was acceptable.

Looking back I think our whole problem was the thai girl assisting the consular. He would ask her for information, and she would say, they don't have. My wife would say it was in there, and she would say no. When I went back in and talked to him, he told me, you don't have phone bills, you don't have emails. I said yes I do, pulled them out of the folder and slid them through the opening, he looked at them, got a bit red faced and then turned and gave a dirty look to the girl. He said everything else was good, just bring back the chats and the missed calls and it shouldn't be a problem.

Rob, we do the same thing. I call him at a certain time each day.

Does your phone bill show incoming calls? On the rare times Husby call me, my phone bill shows:

04/22/2009 13:23 6681411111 Incoming Call 00:32

And then me calling him back:

04/22/2009 13:24 6681411111 Thailand 53:48 $27.30

I'd think that'd be a fair enough way for them to see that she calls.

If not, just add it to your letter. "Audy and I have agreed that I will call her at 7:00 pm CST because it is 7:00 am for her, and she is awake and available at that time." or something along those lines.

Have her write her own letter, too, just to be safe. Thai is fine. English is fine. Whichever she's more comfortable using to express her feelings in. I'm the USC, born and raised here, but when it comes to feelings, even I prefer Thai because it expresses just what the difference between upset and mad really is. But that's just my preference. You and Audy may be different.

So when you mailed in the DS-2001 checklist or letter of readiness with all the forms and documents, did you also mail in the Evidence of Relationship?

I was reading the Packet 3 online from the Bangkok Embassy and it seems you need to mail in ALL forms and documents with the checklist of readiness except they say you do not need to mail in the Medical Results nor Evidence of Relationship.

In Packet 3 reply we just added supplementary evidence of our relationship since the NOA1 for my I-129F petition.

The 6 year relationship was documented mostly with the petition. Naturally what we sent with packet3 was less.

They didn't complain about the documentation we sent, the interviewer told her our paperwork was perfect.

Got the standard reply from the embassy to my email about the status of the case after Teaw took all the new stuff on Monday. The above captioned K-1 fiancé visa case for Ms. BOONMA SRISOMPORN is currently under administrative processing. The visa Unit will be in touch with you and the applicant as soon as the process is completed regarding the outcome of the case.

Of course, they don't say what they are really doing, if it in the fraud unit or where. I am still debating if I should write a letter explaining what happened with the marriage, why and how it deteriorated so fast after we got married that left the door open for my relationship with Teaw to change into more than just friends. What do some of you other "seasoned" people think? Should I write the letter? I can get it there so they have it after the Songkran holiday!!!

My heart goes out to you both to be in AP.

Our K-1 was obtained without any glitches,

but I'd rather have had an RFE than be in AP,

because they're not telling you exactly what

they're sniffing at.

Just keep the communication open. If you

don't know exactly what they are "investigating"

a letter now may shoot you in the foot, because

it may open another line of inquiry that they

may have ignored. Just answer their questions

clearly & honestly and you should be OK.

I'm sending you a private message too.

I wouldn't worry about the holiday. It's not going to happen quickly in any case now.

Personally, given the specific circumstances that you explained combined with this AP issue, I would probably seek out an experienced immigration attorney at this point.
