Go to the Amphur there and get married. Then you can file for DCF (Direct Consular Filing) If you are in Bangkok go to Bang Rak. Takes about an hour.

But then they have to wait for six more months before they can file... not sure if that is what he intended.

But yes, you can file for a K1 while you are in Thailand. I filed in China for a Thai fiancee!

I believe it's a residency requirement for 6 months, not married for 6 months.

Medical takes 2 days unless there's an issue. Post office same day. Police report seems to vary between 1 and 4 days, so I don't see an issue there. Seems like a little Baht at the Pratunam police station seems to speed things up. She'll need to do the medical in either Chiang Mai or Bangkok. If she goes to Bangkok she can do the medical and police report at the same time.

Took us a week to get the Police Report. I would have her go in today and do the police report. The medical we got the same day we went in it was no big deal. Didn't you read packet3 before you sent it in? It does say everything should be completed before sending it in.

I don't know where you got your 8 to 12 weeks information. It took us 2 weeks after packet 3 was submitted, during the busy time of year I think it was max 4 weeks, after packet 3 submission.

here it is from the Embassy website packet 3 instructions.

Although most K visa appointments are scheduled in about

two months, the IV cannot guarantee all interviews will be scheduled that quickly. Each visa category

and case is different, however, and we cannot provide a timeline. Do not contact the IV Unit to ask

when your appointment will be scheduled.

maybe if more of you update info on here it would help people after you!!
