Visa Approved!! On had 7 am BKK appointment and she's approved.

Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions. Still another bit of a wait. I'm heading to LOS 1st week november to celebrate then all three of us come back together.

CONGRATS!!! Wonderful news, enjoy a long and happy life together. N

Question for experts on this thread:

I just went to buy tickets for myself and my wife and stepdaughter to go to Thailand for Songkran 2010. My wife just got a new credit card with 0% interest we used to purchase the tickets. Problem is, we purchased my wifes ticket in her married name and it is her maiden name showing on her passport - so the name on the tickkets and on the passport does not match. It seems to me that I read and or was told that as long as you have a certified copy of your marriage certificate attached to the passport we'll be OK - can anyone advise me about this based on "actual experience" rather than conjecture?

Thanks!

Alternatively you can get her a new passport in advance of your trip. The nearest place for you is Los Angeles, depending on when she last had her passport renewed you may be able to do it by mail but they are moving to a new type of passport that requires in person application for biometrics.

good luck!

Not necessarily. Perhaps it varies from embassy to embassy, but at the one here in Chicago, if her name on her house registration does not match the name she wants on her passport, they won't issue her a new one in her married/new name. In this case, she would need to change her house registration in Thailand first.

Just got our interview letter and had something strange happen.

I sent several e-mails to the Embassy about my financial situation and never had a response.

I crossed my fingers and sent the packet 3 anyway. However when we got the e-mail with our appointment time, I was CC'd on it as well, even though we had only put my fiance's e-mail on the DS-2001.

Do you think this means that they were looking for my packet 3 and already have her 221g waiting for her?

I'm trying really hard to get my financials straightened out, and have actually picked up a contract job for 25 hours a week that puts me over the income requirements. However I'm still worried that I don't have enough paperwork to prove all of this, or that they will throw a wrench in the works some other way.

Has anyone gotten a 221 g for income lately? Or been able to use an I-864? Or been able to convert to a CR-1?

Thanks for the support, hope your interviews are going well.

Dan

DS-2001? I don't recall ever filling out such a form when going through the K1 process. Why did you fill this out?
