My CR1 petition was completed at NVC......but the interesting thing is that our K3 petition is still under administrative processing!!! NVC said it was two different petitions and the decision of one has nothing to do with the other! what?!!! isn't the K3 suppose to bring my spouse here while waiting for the CR1 to be completed? well, i guess there are exemptions to the rules hahaha!!!!

We were going to go about the same route K3. We decided that with most of the people not getting the K3 approved until around the same time as the CR1 we would just file for the CR1. Best of luck with that. I wouldn't sink too much money into the K3 if the CR1 is already almost done.

At this point FORGET the K-3.

The CR-1 is the better route anyway, it costs $800 less, and does NOT have the hassle of adjustment of status, NOT being able to work until getting an EAD, etc... like K-3.

K-3 was developed at a time where CR-1/IR-1 visas were taking MUCH longer that the Fiancee visa, this is not the case anymore.

Congrats on getting it moved through NVC.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Don't confuse "purpose" with "rule". The rule is the petitions are separate cases. The original purpose of the K3 was to reunite the family much sooner, while they waited for the immigrant petition to be approved. The new procedures have pretty much set that original purpose aside.
