New English Test

Hi everyone,

My wife is studying hard for her test, and we were wondering if there are any reviews re: the new test. The flash cards (which we misplaced) are all words like George Washington and United States. Are these the kind of sentences they ask?

We go in 6 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My sentence I had to write was something very simple, like "I drove my car to the store".

Yeap very simple, they asked me to write: They work well together.

And the lady made sure I put the period at the end!.

Just also review the personal questions like "will you bear arms for the United States of America?. Some people say NO, cause they don't understand the question. And this is something critical.

Weird. I thought those sentences were the OLD test. The new test words are all history and civics based, like "Senator," and "father of our country." It seems kind of strange, actually.

Does anyone have any experience with the NEW english test???

Mine was " I have four children", I dont think the written test is any different it is just the civics test which has changed , I suggest downloading the flash cards from the USCIS website

Probably not yet.

Mandatory new format taker is not yet having Interview scheduled.

Most people just takes "old" test format since it is very familiar with people.

Thanks to everyone for their help, but the mystery has been solved by the October filers thread. One of those applicants (who filed after 1 October 2008 and therefore HAD to take the new English test) reports that the English test NOW consists of reading one of the CIVICS questions out loud and then WRITING the answer on a sheet of paper. THAT would explain why the new vocabulary questions are SOOOOO strange like "father of our country," "senator," "six years," and "George Washington."

I knew something was fishy, but as one poster said, most people have been taking the old test up until now. We filed on 22 October, so we HAVE to take the new English test.
