Harold - if you already submitted the paperwork, it will be used for "effect" by the CO-dude who will flip back and forth through your paperwork, TRYING to find something wrong while simultaneously raising everyone's blood pressure in the 8'x10' cubicle/office these people are shoe-horned into. Make sure you have your new paperwork ready, and be ready to deal with someone trying to find fault with your paperwork or your history together. Give me a phone call, and I'll tell you more.

You need to have a I-693 Completed by a Civil Surgeon... The only exceptions are when the DS-3025 is marked as complete.. If not, the I-693 is required.. I would certainly get this started right away in-case the Civil Surgeon requests any additional vacinations... Some can take a while to complete...

You won't need to do a full exam.. You need to complete part 1 of the form and just have the Civil Surgeon complete the Vacination Chart (Part 2) and the Civil Surgeon Certification (Part 5).. I would recommend taking he instructions with you and have the form with Part 1 completed.. In my case the Civil Surgeon had never dealt with a K1 Visa before, so having the Instructions to show the CS was a life saver.. They were insisting on doing the Full Exam.. when I tried to tell them we didn't need the full exam, they thought I was trying to cover something up and accused me of trying to de-fraud immigration.. I showed the Civil Surgeon the instructions that specifically refer to K-1 Visa, and they couldn't appoligize enough.. So, take the instructions and familiarize yourself with the form just in-case...

arizreynolds,

I-693 is only needed if the medical exam expired and vaccinations were not given before the interview as some embassies don't require them.

Since your fiancée had to go through the US embassy in Bogotá, her medical exam is valid for 12 months and the doctor had to have given her the vaccination supplement, form DS-3025. As per the I-485 instructions (page 4, item #8):

Fiancé(e)s

If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may incude the vaccination supplement with your Form I-485.

You can make a copy of these instructions and tell the person conducting the interview the reasons why you didn't submit form I-693. Or you can find an approved civil surgeon in your area who will be willing to sign the I-693 without having to do a full exam again. Some will do it, many won't.

Just a reminder when it comes to the USCIS, never, ever, ever send original documents, only photocopies since they don't ask for originals. Just a heads up for when you file to Remove Conditions. For now, take photocopies of all the documents you sent them with your I-485 to your interview.
