Final note on our "journey". Lorena and the boys went to Colombia in June for a funeral. When they returned in August, we recieved notice that their ROC for the full ten years had been approved. About a week later, Lorena informed me that our marriage was over and she was moving out. I received the divorce papers about a week after that.

From Removal of Conditions to Divorce Court? Yikes! Divorce is painful. But, so is being married to someone who regularly causes pain. Everyone is going to say, "Hang in there, it gets better." Counseling isn't a waste of time or money, but my friends and family are what really helped me survive the hard times. Leidys and I spent her 30th Birthday (today) with my great friend Ross. Friends are a source of strength we can't take for granted. Be sure to take time out for yourself to heal and grow from this experience. You'll only come back stronger.

Hola, we are making the forms for the AOS, and we are not sure what is the A number, if they ever give us one they didn't tell us what it is or how to find it or any at other papers, and one question more im not sure wich all of the numbers i have in my visa is the real "Visa Number"....Thank You for the Help....Peace & Love

You can find your A# in either the NOA2 (approval of form I-129F) your husband received from the USCIS and sometimes the Immigration officer at POE writes it on your passport. It starts with an A#XXXXXXX. As Ken mentioned earlier, some people don't get an A# (others do) and if you can't find it anywhere, you can write/type NONE in your forms.

Your visa number is the one with the red numbers.

Not sure if there are still any out there who know me or that I would know, but here is what is likely my last update on the site:

None of this has anything to do with Colombia or Colombians (at least I don't think so). It does have to do with the stresses that come with adjustment to a new culture (hers to mine and mine to hers) and the complications of adding children into the mix. None of this is for the faint of heart. It takes a lot of time, love, commitment, patience, commitment, work, and commitment. And then more work and commitment. Best of luck to all!!

Of course many of us remember you! How can we forget? You had one of the bumpiest roads I've ever seen and tried your best to make it all work. I'm really sorry to hear that things didn't turn out for you guys but like you said, it's tough and every situation is different.

I believe you are supposed to have a Social Security number. Can you take Juan to the local office to obtain his SSN card? It does not take too long - 2 weeks or so to receive his SSN card in the mail.

Just dropping by to say hi! You guys helped us so much! And finally we were able to pay forward by pretty much walking another good couple through their visa process.

Anyway we went to Red Lobster to celebrate Amour's birthday and took a couple pics. Thought I'd share one with you guys!

It depends. Legally, he can wait to get one until he gets his permanent residency approved. But you may need it if you want to open a bank account, add him to your work's health insurance plan, file taxes and get his driver's license once he receives his work permit. If he decides to get it now, his I-94 needs to be valid for at least 15 days and it will say that it's only valid for work if he has his work permit. Once he gets his permanent residency, he will need to go back to change the status on his SS so he can get a card that doesn't have any restrictions on it.

VISA APPROVED!!!!! sorry for the delay I was in Colombia since Nov. 3 and came back yesterday. Everything was easy, no many questions but a lot of emotional tears..... finally with Mom again !!!!!! She will come in 10 days maybe, we are waiting for her passport.

Hi Diana,

Thanks so much for your response. We want to send out the package as soon as we are finished so we prob won't get him a SS until later i already added him into my bank account since i work at a bank they didnt need a SS for him. since it takes two weeks to recieve it in the mail we will send the forms without the SS number, hopefully that won't be a problem. thanks Diana!

my other questions are, do my taxes have to be the orginal or can they be copies? i made copies of all of them but when we went to Bogota they stayed with the orginals. If in the forms we need to write none can we write NA or leave it blank? for the G325 form i read somewhere it has to be 4 pages i downloaded the one that only has 2 pages, which one is the correct one? where they ask questions about me do i put my new last name or keep my old one?
