Really, I just want to use my free time to scope out, firsthand, places nearby to stay nearby. Even though she lives in Bogotá, I think it's best if the only mode of transportation we have to rely on is our own feet. We don't want any traffic jams (seen plenty), transportation strikes (been there for one), etc. on interview day. Being able to visit the embassy, much like people visit the US Capitol, would only be a "touristy" thing to do to waste time.. As I said, no big deal at all...

Even though they won't let you in unless you have a specific matter to take care of at the embassy, you can still go and visit around it, that's what we did a few days before the interview so we knew where the entrance was and everything else. There's plenty to see if you just want to go sightseeing. There's a TGIF's nearby, cafe internets, pasty shops and the Gran Estación mall.

The day of the interview all you have to say is that you're there with your fiancée for her K1 visa interview and show your US passport so they can let you in with her.

Hello all, My fiancee from Medellin became a US citizen last year. We've been working on the paperwork for her mother to come up with a greencard. One of the requirements is the DAS from Colombia. However, they are both worried that her mother's DAS will show that she left Colombia for Spain in 2004 and stayed for 4 years. She didn't have any visas for this. Does anyone know if this will be looked at as an issue by the US? My thought is that it may be an issue if she were applying for a visa as it shows she may overstay, but since this is a greencard, there's no risk of that. Any help or experience here from others would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

i have a question i think i already know the answer but i want to be positive. when i bought my fiances plane ticket it ask for his passaport number. would that be the red number the one we put on the DS-156 form or would it be the one in the front where his picture is which is his cedula number? thanks

hi Bertha, the passport number is the red number on his passport, this number is on each sheet with holes

Hi all Sandra will be finishing up her 6month medical treatment sept 14 and then we go to see the embassy doctor so they can give us the all clear she is better. i was wondering we call embassy doctor to setup appointment for the monday the 20 and was wondering if we call the embassy with our pin if we can ask them for an appointment the following monday to give them the medical they need and pay for visa?
