Colombia Club Part II

My usual ride to Colombia & back is generally on the daily Medellin - Fort Lauderdale nonstop on Spirit Airlines, who also serves Bogota, Cartegena, Armenia, and had just added new service to Barranquilla. With the airline now on strike since Saturday night, and all flights canceled, how is everyone doing with any efforts to reschedule on other airlines? Had Vanessa not had some already existing plans with family for this week, I'd have probably been down there myself and would have been unable to come home on Sunday, so if you're stuck there, believe me, I really feel for you.

I'm feeling fortunate to not have purchased 2 r/t tickets in anticipation of Leidys receiving her Green Card (which should arrive any day now). This is unfortunate for so many people. I usually fly COPA Airlines from LAX to Barranquilla. They typically permit additional luggage w/o the usual fees that Spirit charges, and when your prometida flys to the USA, chance are, she will be carrying more than the allowable limit that Spirit allows w/o the additional fees.

If she lives in Bogota, I recommend pick up the passport at the Domesa office, she can do it in 2 or 3 days.

Yakad, Maria called the domesa office yesterday and they said sometimes the Embassy does not give it to them till a few days later.What can be done to not have this happen to us??

My NOA1 was issued June 1st.

NVC shipped the package to Bogota on June 4th.

Embassy received the package on the 11th.

I e-mailed them my forms on the 11th as well.

Today, the 15th, received confirmation that they have received the forms.

I hope I have a shot at a late July interview, but most likely I guess it will be in August.

thats great that you emailed the forms and they wrote you back its a relief when we hear back from them. it took me 7 days after they emailed me back to find out the interview date i called DOS it was pretty fast. good luck w everything. let us know when u have the interview date!

Thanks! I just realized I made a typo and wrote NOA1 instead of NOA2.. My NOA1 was Feb 22nd.

They may be talking about the cases in which the embassy leaves a case in AP but happens in the first interview, this time is your second chance and if it is approved I don't think they delay the delivery of the passport
