Time line from USCIS to NVC

I received our NOA2 back on Dec 22. I went to Thailand for a month to see my SO and was looking forward to seeing at what stage everything was in upon my return. When I called the number to NVC and went through all the automation, I got an answer of the NVC not having any record of our paperwork! It has been 39 days as of today, Jan 30, 2009. Even snail mail doesn't go this slow. I am wondering if it got lost or misplaced or what???? Anyone had this problem and is there anyway I can find out more about it? Thanks....RexT

Did you talk to a live person? If I remember correctly, petitions for K-visas are not entered into their automated system. Just the I-130s are. If you haven't already, talk to someone at the NVC, and they can tell you if it's been received and sent on.
