does anyone know why the manila consulate would worry about myself meeting thru my brother and his filipina wife?

Juvy's interview was going all good until she mentioned this fact .Anyone know why the consulate would react in this manner?

So what if we 're introduced thru relatives.... they didnt force us to file fo a K-1 or get engaged. The consulate ask fo a certificate from

philippine immigration which we got immediately.None of this makes sense !!!!!

Anyhow ...any of you that were introudced thu relatives

I would just say you met over the internet. The consulate interviewed Juvy for 20 minutes on this subject trying to catch her in a lie when she told the truth in the first place.

any advice would help juvy goes back feb 2 fo yet another interview.

your fiancee will be interviewed in fraud unit...they are trying to know if its an arranged relationship just to be in usa...just tell yout fiancee to relax and if your relationship is true theres nothing to woory about...all you need is to be consistent with your answers and with the dates and evrything that they will ask you. thats it. and bring so much evidence. thats it.

For some reason they [uSEM] thinks you guys relationship is a scam.

Best if you fly over and attend the 2nd interview!~!

If you don't go and she is denied you'll be regretting your lack of action BIGTIME!

Been there etc!

so what if you met tru relatives for as long as you guys have a bonafide relationship. In some cases most relatives has big role in match making just to get their relatives here in US to the extend faking the relationship. The same thing also if Consul asked Where/How did you met your fiance? and you answered "online or internet" consul would react why would you let yourself expose to stranger and talk to them.

Yes I could see this as a red flag also. I know its probably not your case, and that plenty of people meet through family members. But because the Philippines is such a high fraud country, the red flags go up when someone says they met through family. It could mean that a family member is trying to bring other family members to the U.S. not for the sake of marriage, but to just get them to the U.S.

So they might look into the family members who introduced the both of you, and then they will see if this family shows up in other cases as well.

I mean I know you think your relationship is real. But I would also talk with those you met her through to make sure they have not done this before, or if they have other family members here in the United States that they did some matchmaking for.

But I dont think this is your case, or your fiancee would of not said what she said. They would probably already know and tell you not to say such a thing. So I think you are fine.

We were introduced by relatives. Like you, we also had to go to the FPU. I think that if the answers you give on the second interview are the same as the original interview, you will be ok. Try not to be nervous. Make eye contact. If you have any other evidence, take it. The second interview is more demanding. They will try to cause you to make mistakes. Be ready to give dates, names of relatives, addresses, phone numbers, ETC...

You will be asked about specific dates. When you're fiancee came to see you, what date he proposed. Where were you when he proposed. where all did you go while he was there. If you gave letters as evidence, the contents need to be memorized. If hobbies were discussed, they will ask.

Remember they want you to be nervous. You will be fine as long as you do not make mistakes!!

things will be okay. just be consistent with your answers. don't let them get to you. no matter what they say just respect them and be honest. they just want to catch you lying. just one slip and you know how they make such a big deal. anyway, i will keep you in my prayers. god bless and good luck.

Same story with us.

We are doing absolutely great...and all is well now.

But following the Interview...her Visa was denied...and we were put on hold for almost 2 months.

All was never explained why...but our reps here in the state told us it was beacause it appears that anytime

aa family membe arranges it..it appears to be a set up, and an arranged deal to get them here.

I am sorry...but I went thru this...and was set up by a family before..so I can say it does happen, and if you read the threads dealing with fraud, and Dear Johns..it does happen ,and quite frequently.

So as everyone else said...try not to worry..though impossible in that step of this process they call immigration.

Pray..be happy, and be honest.

Best wishes.

we were introduced by a family member as well.. as my then fiance was my aunt's co-worker... but i didnt have a hard time with the consul.. i think its how you have related the story of how you two met.. im sure you are going to be fine..i just hate it when embassy does that... like they know more than 2 people who just want to be together.... it ironic coz they are not doing us a favor, its quite reverse..and we pay a high price for their judgement...

😁
