I filled a k1 visa for my fiance I met 3 years ago working in mexico its been 6 months the american government says its on hold for background check I have a felony 18 years ago for drug possesion but I work as a enginner in Mexico now on border acuna why is she being punished to come here I see her all the time and send her boys to private school it just doesnt seem fair she didnt do anything wrong

background checks do not include the USC beyond certain sexual crimes... are you sure you are the reason?

Are you still on paper?

If not, I would be burning up the phone calling embassy trying to get a answer.

Anyone can be held up in security checks for any length of time.

Neither of us have any criminal record at all and we were held up for almost a month. Sara (estadia) has been waiting for over a year and a half because of security checks.

yup u right about that kim and Neither of us has ANY criminal history in our past........so i would say that its prolly he got hung up in security back ground checks its hard and its tough and there really is no way out of it until they are finished with you and you might not ever know the reason behind the length of time it takes them to finish with it at least thats what my experience is at this time and i still am in security checks :whistle:
