ok, so we stayed at the new house last night coz we were up till at least 3am cleaning stuff and didn't wanna drive to where we're staying just to get up in a few hours and drive back.

We wake up this morning and I notice that the couch is wet... I look up and what do I see but the ceiling is leaking. Ok, get a bucket...I can deal with this. Hubby goes up into the attic to find the leak. I leave the room to grab some pliers for him and next thing I know I hear *kaplop*!!! I hurry back into the living room and see hubbies legs hanging through the ceiling....ceiling stuff is everywhere. Here's a glimpse...

welcome home...

Now, I think I already mentioned that the house was ok but we had no power to the living room...at all... We had a friend over and this is what they did...

We may have a new ventilation system in the living room...but by golly we have light!!!!!

Ah, I'm sorry things aren't going so well. The ceiling is fixable but it still sucks knowing you will have to deal with a new problem on top of the leak. You know that saying "when it rains, it pours". I'm afraid you are in one of those situations now! I hope it all works out and things get better for you (F) (F) (F)

I'm sure you already know this, but as a reminder, please be careful about mold. It can be the cause of major health problems, and if the ceiling was wet enough for long enough, you could have a problem with it in the floorboards or what have you. Please be careful and get it checked out when you can.

*eta - congrats on the house and moving in. :star:

Congrats on the move Amal. It sucks Noor fell through the ceiling though!! Was the home inspected? I am no expert but it seems like if it was inspected that the inspection company should slap the inspector on the wrists for the leak. Sounds like it could have been leaking prior to the fall through! I wish you the best in your new home!!!! Take care and keep hubby out of the attic if you can!

between my son and the house...I can't tell which way is forward anymore. I still have a couple books to get out but just can't seem to find the time to get to the post office...ARGGGGGG

I'm still happy with the house. it's a quaint little place and by golly it's ours!!! (with or without the new ventillation in the living room lmao

yeah it had an inspection but the house was sold as short sale and AS IS so there's nothing we can do but move forward with the insurance company and home warranty company. bleck. I don't wanna deal with any more problems that take money to fix!
