hi everyone, this is my first time posting on this website. I was wondering if someone could help me with this, i sent the I-864 AOS package on 01/16/2009 and last night i checked online the IV bill generated. Can i pay it now or do i have to wait until i recieve the actual bill from NVC??

Once the IV generated, you can pay online, make sure that you have the IIN. Goodluck...

Do not pay 2x, if u pay online and the bills come to you via mail, disregard and check online make sure the bills is PAID.

Please be careful and maybe ask first.

We paid the IV Bill as soon as it became available on the website, but before we'd sent I-864. After 2 days, the IV Bill went to "PAID" status and after another 2 days back to "NOT PAID". When we phoned, they said it was because they hadn't asked for the money yet. I couldn't find anywhere that stipulated when to pay, other than that the payment would be blank on the website if we shouldn't, so made the honest mistake of paying it early.

I know you've sent I-864 so it is probably different and you have nothing to worry about, but just want to let you know my story so you could make an informed decision.

I now have to wait until January 30th before calling the NVC so they will deal with the erroneous payment hehe, which sucks as we're doing the LingCHe shortcut, so time is a wasting now.

- OUR TIMELINE -

04/25/08 - sent I-130 to Chicago lockbox

05/05/08 - received NOA1, assigned to VSC

11/07/08 - transferred to CSC

12/16/08 - NOA2 by email - I-130 approved

12/20/08 - NOA2 in mail - 240 days

12/22/08 - NVC receive package

01/05/09 - we receive AOS Bill and DS-3032

02/12/09 - medical 04th Mar 2009 - NVC Complete - 314 days

04/28/09 - interview passed - 370 days

06/20/09 - visa arrived by courier

06/21/09 - POE Dallas Fort-Worth - 398 days to gain permanent residence (CR-1)

02/22/11 - Sent I-765 to Vermont Service Center

03/03/11 - Received receipt for I-765

04/04/11 - AOS interview and biometrics in Oklahoma City - took all of 20 minutes, no sweat

Currently waiting on my 10-year Green Card - Best wishes to everyone going through their journey!

yes you have to watch the being sent with the sending dont hurry any of it give each step a few days its kinda like you time it to where everything just crosses in the mail one coming as one is going
