Does anyone know what is suggested for a layover time at the port of entry?

Brian in Tennessee

I think, for most major airports, at least 90 minutes to keep the heart rate down to a minimum.

I have been through 10 or 12 different POE's and come through every three of four months in the last 4 years. In my experience 90 minutes the the absolute mininium time you should plan for. If possible I'd schedule about 3 or 4 hours. I know thats not always possible but on at least 4 or 5 occasions it has taken me longer than 90 minutes to clear and catch my connecting flight and I'm not even going through the immigrant lines..

Also after a long flight I like to get a bite to eat, change my clothes, charge my phone, make a few call and generally relax so I try to leave time for that.

I would suggest 3 to 4 hours between any connecting flights. Long lines and late arrivals this time of year equal missed flights with shorter layovers.
