London embassy and bags

Hey all.

I'm going to the London embassy in a few days for my interview. The letter mentions that they have a policy on not admitting some bags. How strictly is this enforced? e.g, could I bring in a small backpack or a briefcase?

I think, and someone will correct me if not, lol, that if they dont LIKE your bag they'll just kep it til you get out of your interview - but they'll let you remove paperwork etc.

All bags are obviously subject to search and /or X-ray and I know plenty of VJers who took small backpacks/briefcases etc.. mainly cos the amount of paperwork is easier to carry that way - but they won't refuse you entry, at least I've never heard of that happening, just cos your bag is the 'wrong' type.

I'll keep a look out for if anyones bags get taken to security for holding when i go

I took an over night back in with me & it was fine

I took a clear carrier bag with me and had no probs, guy in front of me had a rucksack and it got searched, but they let him through with it. He said he got searched at every airport across Europe with it too!
